Open Cock-Pit Day at McClean Airforce Base

On the night of Evan's birthday, August 7, we were able to go to McClean Airforce Base for their Open Cock-Pit  Day.
It was a great finish to a wonderful 2 year old birthday!  Evan had so much fun.  One of the things that made it special was being able to attend with the Wisner Family...Natalie, Tyler, and Dave...
the Rhodes Family...Kristina, Hannah, Andrew, and Travis...

and Grandma Knight and Aunt Alison.
That evening, Evan got to get on pretty much all the planes.  The crowd was perfect.  He loved touching the buttons and pretending to fly.
Here Jim is putting Evan in one of the planes to check it out.  Notice the sunglasses in his hands.  Well that was the last we saw of them.  They now are living inside the plane.  They fell in one of the tiny spaces in there.  Bummer, but at least we have this photo as a memory! :)
Here is Evan with Mommy posing.  It was very hard to get Evan to pose for any of these pictures.  He just wanted to check out the planes.
This picture cracks me up, not to mention the concern for germs in this shot. :)
Here is another one with Daddy and a little less of the pig nose look!
Daddy and Evan again- my two hunks!
This is what it looked like when the gang gathered on one of the planes.  I love the artistic look of this picture with the welcome aboard sign.  Who took this picture?!?  Man, they are good (gotta toot your own horn sometimes, right!) hee hee :)
It was great for the boys to be able to romp around together.  The hardest part was to keep them from running, because you were not allowed to run at this event! :)
Evie had a lot of fun too.  Here she is looking cute like always, I love how the sun is hitting her.  So angel like! :)
Last but not least a picture of our family at the event in front of the Blue Angel.
Sure had a lot of fun.  The best part is Evan truly loves planes.  Jim couldn't be prouder.  An important note, his love for airplanes was not encouraged too much, minus the airplane nursery bedding set, some clothes, toys etc., Evan loves airplanes all by himself and affectionately calls them "appies."  He even points them out in the sky even before we notice them on many occasions. :)
