Evan is Two!!!

Man, did we have to work for this picture.  We think this is a glimpse of what 2 is going to be about for Evan- lots and lots of energy, passion, noise, fun, and opinions. :)  The bottom picture was actually taken with him running into the background and falling on the ground.  Oh, I am sure Sears loves us! :)

Our fantastic, fun loving, handsome little boy turned two, on Saturday, August 7.  This post is a little delayed because life has been crazy lately.  But we want to note our amazing son's milestones to date.

At two, Evan is:
-The best boy we could have ever hoped or dreamed of!
-He is hilarious and fun loving.
-He loves to run, jump, dance, spin, climb, flip upside down, wrestle, play chase, walk backwards, and go through tunnels.
-He can say tons of words and is beginning to talk in sentences, however, his pronunciation isn't the best.  He usually requires a translator (a.k.a., Mom and Dad)  But, it is getting better every day.
-He loves to give kisses and hugs to anyone who will take them.  They usually involve tackling in someway.
-He really enjoys friends and has a great time playing with all of his buddies.
-He can be a little possessive and doesn't like people to take his toys, but who does really. :)
-He sometimes cries when Mom and Dad leave, he loves his Mommy and Daddy very much!
-His favorite toys are cars (especially his Cars figurines), trains (Thomas and friends are his top picks), planes, balls, and bikes or anything to ride on.
-His favorite movies are Cars and Thomas and Friends and The Great Discovery.
-His favorite cartoons are Caillou, Wiggles, Thomas, Mater Tall Tales, Curious George, and Super Why to name a few.
-He really enjoys dancing, music, and singing.
-Trains, planes, cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles all vehicle are wonderful in his eyes.  He loves to point them out on the road too.
-He is all boy and not afraid to get dirty in the backyard or in the sandbox.
-He is also pretty tough and if he gets a scrape will usually just jump back up; if there are tears it is nothing a quick kiss on the boo boo can't help.
-He is a good sleeper and goes down about 8:30 p.m., yet a very early riser (he enjoys waking up at about 5:00 a.m. - we are working on this).  He still has an afternoon nap that lasts a couple hours which Mommy loves.
-Evan will sometimes try new food, but usually likes to stick with his favorites consisting of noodles, cheese, peanut butter, fruit, bread, any sweets like candy and cookies. :)
-He enjoys books and loves to hear his favorites over and over again
-He is the best big brother and has a huge heart for his little sister. One of his favorite things is to make her laugh.
-Evan loves life and all of his family and friends very much.

Here he is with Daddy at his Two Year Old Well Check Up with our doctor, on Friday, August 27.  At this appointment he did amazing and the cutest thing was he can say our Doctor's name.  We practiced saying, "Hi Dr. Doan"  He was doing it all week, but of course chickened out when we actually got there, but it was still very cute and we told the doctor.  He also was blown away by our doctor's magic tricks.  Evan thought they were super cool.  At this appointment Evan weighed 27 pounds and 5.7 ounces.  He is 35.5 inches tall.  The doctor estimated that he would probably be about 5'10''.  We were pleased and happy that he is predicted to have a little more height than Mommy and Daddy. :)  We were so proud of Evan at this appointment because he also had to get some shots.  He did so well.  It was hard for Mommy and Daddy too.  It was weird knowing that he was aware of the shots this time.  Poor guy.  He was brave and very happy to enjoy a dum dum lollipop that Mommy brought after the expereince.

We sure do love this little boy and are so proud to call him son!  You have given us the most amazing 2 years Evan and we look forward to the exciting times ahead.  Thank you Lord for this gift named Evan! :)
