We moved!

Sacramento here we come. Jim got a new job in the Sacramento area and we are returning to our hometown. This is Jim, Evan and me in front of our house in Southern California with our Budget moving van last Saturday, September 20. This move has been a whirlwind of a process, but we are so happy to be getting back to our roots and having the opportunity to raise Evan near the grandparents and aunts and uncles. We are temporarily staying with family while we search for a house. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this time of transition. We will keep you posted on our progress.

6 Weeks Old

Evan turned six weeks old on Thursday, September 18. Wow how time continues to fly by. He is such a joy and has really started to smile all the time now. I even was able to catch it on camera- yippee! He loves getting his diaper changed in the morning. This is when I was able to capture the beautiful smile. We love those checks! He also continues to notice more and more things and loves all his toys that make noise. Of course everything only lasts for a short time and then he is on to wanting something new. We are still figuring out the sleep pattern. Some nights are much better than others. Jim and I continue to hope for more sleep all the time. It is definitely a beautiful thing how God creates us to adapt to less sleep during this newborn phase. Evan is still eating like a champ and gaining weight. We go to the doctor again in October and look forward to seeing his new weight. All we know is that his cloths are getting tighter and he is getting that adorable chubby baby look.

Visit with the Davidson Family

We had an amazing visit with the Davidson family, Andrew, Jessica and little Samuel, on Saturday, September 13. They had Samuel on August 19. This was the first time our little guys got the chance to meet. We had the best time hanging out and talking about our sons and being parents. What a blessing to have such good friends sharing in this time of parenting together especially having the opportunity to have kids so close together in age. We love you guys and can't wait to do this again real soon! :)

One Month Old

Evan is one month old today and could not be more fantastic!  He got to wear his big boy shorts and sneakers.  We have to say that we think he is adorable, but we are of course a little bias. :)  Evan's accomplishments at one month include- consistent eatting (We are getting better at the feeding process and he is filling out his newborn cloths a little more every day), smiling at Mom and Dad (he has started to notice us and gives us his ever so cute grin- hopefully we can get this captured soon to share with everyne else), continuing to enjoy his toys (he has this farm musical toy that calms him down with the lovely "Old McDonald Had a Farm" classic tune), his bath time is always a hit, and last but not least he has started to experience the pleasure of tummy time (his arms and neck are getting stronger and we witnessed him lift his head from left to right- so cool).  Each day is a new adventure with Evan and we can't wait to see what happens next. :)  This little guy is such a blessing, thank you Lord!

Evan's new family and friends

We have had some special visitors come to see Evan since his arrival. Here are some pictures of their time together. He has already made so many new friends and can't wait to meet more. We look forward to keeping the visits coming and Evan getting to meet all of our wonderful friends and family.

Grandma and Grandpa Thompson having a blast hanging out with Evan.

Aunt Alison and Grandma Knight also had a great time with the little guy.

We also had a special visit from Lily. She was so great with Evan.

Then we got to visit with my amazing co-workers at our CSULB Unit picnic shin-dig where Jim and I got to introduce them to our little man. Pictured below is my wonderful boss Janice and Evan.

Here are Noemi, Sally in the background having fun, and me at the picnic with the Evster.

We also had a blast hanging out with good friends Megan and Ryan.

We got to introduce Evan to the delightful and always spectacular Chris and Lalani.

He was then charmed by our sweet friend Tammi.

Evan's first big car ride took us to meet the Riverside Knight relatives. We had so much fun. Pictured from left to right are Uncle Herb, Andrew, Brandon, Becky, Emma on the tricycle, Aunt Kathy, Evan and Annie (missing from the photo are Bob, Debbie and Robert. They had to leave before this picture was taken- sorry guys)!

Evan got to hang with his Pops and GrandDeb Knight. They had a good time together.

Mostly recently he also got to meet our sweet friends Julie, Aaron, Kelley and Zach.

He lastly got to visit with Sarah and Amanda again. Evan remembered them from the hospital. Good times were had by all!
