Valentine's Day

We had a beautiful Valentine's Day full of lots of love, fun, and surprises! Jim did really great and scored some mega points. He showed up at my office delivering flowers at 9:00 a.m. Very, very sweet! They were fabulous!!! You can catch a glimpse of them below.
We then got home and exchanged our cards and I gave him his gift at this time. I got Jim a shirt he had been wanting, some classic Valentine boxers, and another random item, but he wanted it- a cheese slicer! Lastly, I made him a list of the top ten reasons I love him and put each answer in a balloon which he had to pop to reveal the list. It was really fun for both of us. Jim also gave me a delicious Mrs. Field's cookie card. Then after we attempted the restaurant crowds at the places that do not take reservations. We went to B.J.'s in Cerritos. The wait was an hour and half. We opted to order take out, which was done in thirty minutes. This was our back up plan, it worked out perfect. Overall the night was very nice and an amazing love day!

Registering Adventures

We had a lot of fun registering at a few of the baby stores. First we visited Babies R Us on Monday, February 11. You can see us below in action. Then we went to Target on Friday, February 15.

We had the best time and enjoyed picking out wonderful products for our son. Babies R Us even gave us a present for registering with them, of course it had several advertisements included too, but that was okay, I love free things! We got a pacifier, bottle, some wipes, a newborn diaper, and some disposable nursing pads to name a few of the memorable items. Jim has been busy researching some of the big items to make sure we get the best (and most affordable) products out there. He is very knowledgeable now on children's strollers and car seats. This weekend we felt really productive and also finally picked out the crib set we like. It just came onto the market so the actual model is not online yet, but should be very soon. We will post it as soon as it appears online.

At this point Baby Boy Knight's registries include:
Babies R Us

Target

PoshTots (Online Store)

Things could change in regards to the registries if we happen to see something else we like, but at this point we have pretty much registered for all the basics. Thanks for checking them out!

Welcome to our Blog

Welcome to the first entry of "Knight Tales." Inspired by the great blogs of others, we are starting this blog to keep everybody up to date on all things baby (and us too, of course).

We found out that we were pregnant the Saturday night after Thanksgiving and let our families know at Christmas. As you can imagine, it was a great Christmas gift.

Returning home in January, we got our first view of Baby Knight with an ultrasound and met our doctors. It was amazing to see the heart beating at such an early stage. At nine weeks, here is our first glimpse...

Twelve weeks was our next appointment to the doctor. This was an amazing visit because we could see the baby growing (fingers, legs, etc.) since the last ultrasound. Here is one of the pictures at twelve weeks.

We were lucky enough to get a longer, clearer ultrasound at 13 weeks. This was exciting because they said that sometimes they can tell the sex at this stage They asked if we wanted to know, to which we eagerly answered "yes!" Here are a few pictures at 13 weeks- you will notice that one of them has a note written on it.

The nurse was 95% certain that we were looking at a boy, but she said that she wasn't supposed to say for certain. When we got home, we Googled "ultrasound boy 13 weeks" and found many examples that looked very similar. So we are very excited, especially since we were not expecting to know the sex this early, as it generally occurs at 18-20 weeks.

That night we just had to get a baby names book since we could narrow down the choices by half. Nothing is decided yet, but we have a few that are strong contenders. We've decided to keep the name(s) to ourselves until we are sure OR the baby is born.

Feel free to send a comment or suggestion for naming Baby Boy Knight. Please know that "Tim" is off the table. That's all for now, we'll do our best to keep the blog fresh.
