Ten Months Old

Ten Months old and look at our precious little angel - can you say big girl?!?!  Evie official turned ten months on November 10.  She weighs 20 pounds according to our home scale and is as cute as can be.  Her accomplishments to date are as follows:

*ALMOST WALKING- Evie is moving out these days and pushing cars, bikes, our activity center chair...you name it she enjoys walking with assistance and in no time we think will be walking without it just like Evan.  Here she is walking around in the backyard.
Now on to another vehicle.  She enjoys variety. :)

Here she is inside the house pushing her chair on the activity center.
Evie here doing some one handed pushing.  Isn't she cool?!?!
Yet again, photographed pushing another vehicle, her own stroller.
*STANDING- Evie can be seen standing all by herself all throughout the day.  She is getting very good at this.

*CLAPPING- She continues to enjoy clapping and really loves to cheer people on when others are applauding or smiling away.  I just love it and can't help picturing her as a future cheerleader! :)

*TEETH- She is getting more teeth (the top ones are coming in - 3 to be exact).  Here is a picture from October 21.  She is happy I am sure to be getting these teeth, but not a huge fan of the experience.  Teething has not been a fun time in our house.  It consists of lots of fussing and needing Mommy, also lots of waking up through the night too.
Here is just another great picture from that day - such a sweetheart!
*STAIRS- Evie can climb our flight of stairs in our house and tries to do it at every chance she gets.  She loves to have you watch her do it and gets so proud when she gets to the top.  Thank goodness for baby gates though. :)

*CHASE- Evie's new thing is playing chase.  She especially loves to play when you are trying to change her diaper and put her close on after bath time.  She quickly tries to escape and then looks back to see if you are going to come get her.  It is adorable, especially to see her little naked tushy crawling away. :)

*FOOD- Evie is eating gold fish crackers now and Cheerios....big time for this girl.  During her Sunday School class they actually let her go to the big kid's class (this is Evan's class) and she gets to snack with all the children during snack time.  They told us she just loves it and thinks she is big time now! :)
She still enjoys putting a variety of things in her mouth as most babies do.  Here she is eating Lightening McQueen...okay so not everything going into her mouth is food...brother's toy are mighty tasty too!

*DRINKS- She is getting good at using her water cup too.  Look at this adorable picture.
Here is a cute picture of Evan eating a churro that same night too just for fun. :)  He loves to say "Cheers" with just about anything lately.  Here he was toasting away with the churro.
*HELPING AROUND THE HOUSE- Evie recently has discovered that she enjoys helping me with the dishes.
*PLAY TIME WITH BROTHER- Evie loves to do everything Evan does and of course loves all of his toys and snacks too.   Lucky for us Evan loves playing with his sister.  We are thrilled that they enjoy each other "most of the time.:  Sometimes they do express their frustration with each other, but for the most part love is usually in the air. :)
*HAIR ACCESORIES- I don't remember if I mentioned this in her previous month old postings (she probably started this back in August), but Evie has discovered her hair clips, bows, hats you name it and does pull them out and/or off. Therefore, you may have noticed they are not in every picture anymore like they used to.  However, they still go on pretty much every day and I am trying to encourage her not to pull them out or take such items off.  Us girls need to accessorize it is important she learns this at an early age. :)

I have more pictures of our little love muffin to share, but they are going to be posted on their own blog entries.  Be sure to check them out.

All in all...this little girl is such a gift from God that we are thankful for each and every day.  We can't imagine a day without her.

Thank you for being such a blessing Evie!  We love you and Happy 10 Months!

Sweet Baby Jayne

Our fantastic friends, Dave and Natalie Wisner just welcomed into the world a new daughter on 10-10-10!  She really is a perfect 10 too- Baby Jayne.  We got her the pretty little princess wand above that she is posing with.  Our family got to meet her for the first time at the hospital.

Here we are below with Natalie's sister, Ali, who traveled from Ventura to meet her new niece.  Doesn't Evie look so big next to Jayne?!?!
Here is Evan meeting her for the first time.  He was ready to give her a kiss right away.  We had to tell him to just blow her a kiss for now. :)
Jim holding Jayne.  It seems like just yesterday, Evie and Evan were that little.
Evan keeping busy in the hospital room.  He was also given a See's lollipop from Dave and Natalie.  This was a very special and yummy treat that kept him busy for awhile too.
Here is our family with Jayne.  Look at her expression, I don't think she knew what to think of us. :)
Here is the happy Mommy and Daddy!  Don't they look incredible...Natalie, did you really just have that baby?!?!
Lastly, one finally picture of the beautiful princess!  We can't wait to have so many adventures and fun times with you little Jayne.  We love you and welcome to the world! :)

New Fireman P.J.'s (hat and accessories courtesy of Sallyann and family- Thank you!)

Here he comes...Evan to the rescue...and look at that pose!
He even comes with a fire extinguisher...it may be small, but it does the job! :)

"Oh man....look at that fire."  I mean what else can he be saying with this expression and look?!?! :)
"Maybe this pose will help me get the job done."
"Or this one?"
"I think this one is the winner! "

If anyone is needing Evan's services in their firefighting squads just let us know and we will send him over. :)  He is ready for duty!

Mom and Dad's 38th Wedding Anniversary

This is late in posting, but what isn't these days...I wanted to share my parents 38th Wedding Anniversary festivities.  We had a wonderful afternoon and evening on September 16th spending time together with family and going to a great dinner at Cattleman's.  Thank you Grandma!  Yummy!

Here is a picture of Evie waiting for my parents and Grandma to arrive.  She thought she would pass the time by chewing on a Lego.
Here is the happy couple holding the card our family got for them...don't they look fabulous and so in love! :)
Here is my beautiful Grandma with Evie and part of the gift package decorations.
Here is Grandma Thompson posing with Evie.
So sweet...getting kisses! :)
Here we are after dinner at Cattleman's.  Look at that silly boy at the other table that posed with us. :)

Cattleman's even recognized them on their special occasion white board.  That was nice so we thought we would take a picture. :)
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!  We love you!

Evan as a frog

Before our final selection of the Garden Gnome for Evan's Halloween costume we also pondered him being a frog (this costume fit in with our Garden theme too).  We bought a costume, it actually had a little hole and of course Evan wouldn't keep the hood on too, thus we returend it to the store.  However, we did get a couple cute pictures of him while trying it on.  He liked the idea of hopping around like a frog and had fun practicing this activity for awhile dressed in this costume while Jim and I made the final decision.

MOPS Rubio's Fundraiser

My MOPS group had a recent fundraiser at Rubios in Rocklin on October 14.  Our family had a nice time.  Here is a real cute picture of Evan with his little girl friend, Brittney.  Can't you feel the love!?! :)
Here is a picture of the fam after our dinner too. :)

Knight Halloween Festivities

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween with your families.  We sure did!
It was a fun filled Garden/Farm themed adventure...with a little angel and race car driver in there too!

Our Halloween Sunday started off with going to church.  Jim and I had just purchased some new pajamas for the kids and happened to get some that were or could be like a costume.  So I decided to put them on the kids for their Sunday School Classes.

Evan wore his race car driver p.j. shirt

...and Evie wore her new angel p.j.'s.  It actually came with the little tutu too.

After church we got to have lunch with Pops.  He and GrandDeb brought us all Halloween Goodies.  It was sooooo sweet literally! :)  Thank you from all of us!
After his visit and nap time, Grandma and Grandpa Thompson came over.  They brought the kids Halloween buckets from McDonald's and Jim and I some accessories for our costumes that we would be wearing that evening.  Thank you too!

That night we all geared up and got ready for Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood.  Jim and I figured this would be the last year we could really decide what Evan would be for Halloween and thus decided that we would all be part of a Garden Themed Halloween.  This would allow Jim and I to easily dress up like Gardeners.

Evan was a Garden Gnome

...and Evie was a Flower.

It was fantastic!  Until, we came to the kids putting on their head gear that accompanied their costumes. :)
We did manage to get the head pieces on for a few pictures, but mainly got a lot of NO's from Evan as see below and running away.
And lots of pulling and tugging of her costume from Evie.  I just love this picture below.

The good thing for Evie is we had an alternative to her head piece - a flower hair clip.  She did wear this and it can be seen in several of the pictures.

Jim and I decided that we would avoid head gear costumes for next year if at all possible. :)  However, this was a fun problem to have and will I am sure be very memorable for years to come. :)

After achieving some decent pictures of everyone in their outfits, we headed out for Trick-or-Treating.  Evan's second time and Evie's first.  I think again that we were more excited than the kids, but I do think that Evan was equally excited this year.  He got way into it and became a Trick-or-Treating pro! :) Here is a picture of me and the kids as we left our house.

One of our favorite houses to visit was our neighbor and friend's house Nilda and Dave.  Nilda is also Evan's Sunday School teacher.  She was awesome and very festivie dressed in a pumpkin costume.  She gave both Evan and Evie little glow stick necklaces, spider rings, and yummy pretzels.  Here is a picture of her in action with the kids.
While visiting Ms. Nilda, she also took a picture of our family at her door.  You can see us in action.  Jim was walking around with a rake; it was pretty awesome!  The cool thing too is we actually got Evan to put his hat on again for this picture.

So many of our neighbors got into the festivities.  One of our neighbors even puts on a full Haunted House.  Jim and I actually walked through it taking turns while watching the kids outside.  They had a friend to keep them company in the yard.  I love how they are looking at this crazy guy in this picture.  Evan eventually did get closer, he was a really good sport and thought that they were silly.
Here is our little dude at another house.  He was fearless.  Jim and I were so proud!

We ultimately made it Trick-or-Treating to about two and a half blocks.  At this point Evie wanted out of the stroller and Evan wanted in. :)
Since Evan didn't really want to wear his head gear we were commonly mistaken for Farmers, we initially corrected people, but by the end of the night...Farmers we were, with a little flower! :)

When we got home the kids inspected all their lot, along with Mommy and Daddy.  They were adorable checking everything out.
Lollipops were the big hit for both kids.
Evie especially enjoyed trying to put all the lollipops in her mouth and trying to take the wrappers off.  It became a real fun game.
Mommy and Daddy got in on the fun too! :)
Lastly, we also got to hand out candy at the door, which is always fun too!  Here are Jim and Evan in action when we got home.

It was the perfect end to a great day.  Happy Belated Halloween to all of you!  Love the Knight Family.
