Half way through!

I made it to 20 weeks, and the reality is that I am writing this post when tomorrow I will be 22 weeks. Man, how time flies! Below are new belly shots of me and the baby at 20 weeks. I also included in a belly shot from 18 weeks just so you could compare the growth. Pretty crazy! Pregnancy continues to be a joy and Jim and I can't wait to meet our little boy very soon.

Month five, 20 weeks

Month four, 18 weeks

Happy St. Pat's Birthday Jim!

Today is Jim's birthday and while the weekend of celebration started out beautifully the actual birth"day" was a little nutty. Beginning with the fact that our plumbing clogged up last night in the shower and we also had a baby's doctor appointment, not to mention that work for both of us was really busy as Monday's tend to be. However, nevertheless, we were determined to make sure Jim had a fabulous birthday and I think we did it!

Pictures of the many festivities can be seen below...

The partying began on Sunday, Jim's mom and sister joined us for lunch, an afternoon of gifts and cake and then a night out at the Curtain Call Dinner Theater to see Forever Plaid.

On Jim's actual birthday, St. Patrick's Day, I surprised Jim by pulling some of our friends together for a very last minute dinner (I called them all at about 4:30 p.m. to be exact and the dinner was at 6:00 p.m. that night). Thanks Corey, Kimberly, Dan, Melissa and Catherine. You guys rock! Jim had a great time and was truly surprised! After dinner, B.J.'s gave Jim a complimentary Pizookie which you will see Jim blowing out the candle below.

We then had a wonderful night out with our friends Lalani and Chris on Saturday, March 22 at the Lazy Dog Cafe! It was fabulous and we even got a free appetizer since it was Jim's birthday! Below you can see the nifty gift Jim received. He even tried it out that night. He loves anything that flies.

Thank you to everyone for helping Jim celebrate this momentous occasion! Happy Birthday Sweetie! :)

Anatomy Ultrasound

We had the opportunity today to get an anatomy ultrasound at Hoag in Huntington Beach today. Jim and I were very excited to see our son again at 19 weeks. This appointment was early in the morning and required a full bladder. While I was happy about the ultrasound the full bladder was hard and really quite unpleasant. I didn't know how I was going to enjoy this ultrasound, but I figured I had to endure. When we got in the room and she put the ultrasound tool on my stomach she said oh you have too much water in there and she said I could empty my bladder, which was a big relief, but of course, I wasn't sure if this would mess up the viewing. She assured me that it would be okay to empty my bladder and said that they only do this for certain people as the water allows for a better picture depending on body types, and can sometimes angle the baby just right, but apparently my body type was okay and I was free to be empty. Thank goodness! I was so happy and able to enjoy the ultrasound comfortably.

We got to see soooooo many amazing things during this appointment. The sonogram technician went through and measured each part of his anatomy. So far our boy appears to be right on track. One of the really phenomenal things we viewed was his eye lens. They didn't get a photo of this, but it was quite awe inspiring. During the last ultrasound at 13 weeks we saw his eye sockets, but seeing the lens was really neat because you could see them moving. I wish we had a video of the whole appointment, but no camera's were allowed- we tried and were prepared just in case. However, we are very excited about the pictures and mini videos that Hoag gave us during the exam. You can see them below.

To start things off, we got 100% confirmation that we are having a BOY as you will see from the first picture. :)

Then we got a really cool view of his little feet. The neat thing about this was we discovered he has feet just like Jim. The sonogram technician, immediately said who has the toe longer than the big toe?!? She wrote "Hang Ten" on the picture because you could see all ten toes.

This picture shows how handsome our little guy already is. He has the most perfect profile. We can't wait to meet him and give him all our love.

This picture was fun; here he gives us a nice thumbs up! Gotta love this little guy already- full of good times and a positive attitude! :)

Can you say drama!? This final still photo shows our son and how has had a pretty big morning. Look at his hand on his head. What a trooper through this whole ultrasound.

These last pictures are really the hit of the show, they are motion videos of our son's heartbeat. Please enjoy the miracle of life- we sure can't get enough of it!

Crib Shopping

On Sunday, March 9 we traveled to Riverside to go to U.S.A. Baby to register for our crib set along with visiting Jim's mom. Below you can see the model we selected. We mentioned this set a couple blogs ago, but here it is for everyone to see! It is made by Cocoon. The best part is that it can transition when the time is right into a toddler and full size bed.

The picture below shows the actual color of the crib that we want- Paprika. However, the model pictured with Jim and his mom is different.

This is the dresser and hutch that goes with the crib.

This is the six drawer cabinet in the set. We were impressed with the craftsmanship and feel like this will be some furniture that we will have for a long time.

During our time at the store we also saw the official model of the stroller and car seat we like, made by Mia Moda. Jim proudly poses with it below. This floor model is not the right color, but the style is correct.

After a long day of looking at the furniture, Jim and I made sure to put our feet up and try out some baby rockers too. We did not find one we wanted, but had fun trying them out!

Our baby is getting spoiled already!

We feel extremely blessed by all of our friends and family during this season. Everyone has been excited and welcoming of our soon to be son! He truly is getting spoiled already with lots of really fun and adorable items.

First we received the gifts below from our good friends Phillip and Jenae. We can't wait to share them with our little boy.

Then we got these adorable outfits. The white one is from our sweet friends Dave and Natalie. The one in the center is actually from me- I couldn't resist. The green one is a Christmas gift I got for Jim too! What can I say I am sucker for baby stuff! )

We even got a gift from Babies R Us and some other free stuff from Motherhood Maternity!

Then we received a package in the mail from our thoughtful friends Leslie and Gary. You can see the beautiful gift wrap below. :)

This is what was in the gift- the cutest little sweater vest and a perfect ultrasound frame colored with blue baby feet for our little boy!

Below are all of the thoughtful cards that people have sent with congrats on Baby Knight. Thank you so much everyone! We love you and can't wait to share our baby with you.
