Brother, Sister Love Continues

Evan reading a story to Evie on December 8.
Look at these cuddles and kisses on December 7.
Just recently at the mall playground, Evan helping his sis on one of the climbing structure!
The love between these two is melting our hearts.  We hope they are close like this forever!

Decorating for Christmas

Decorating for Christmas, always a fun task in our home!  This year was even more fun now that Evie could participate and help hang the ornaments.  We did a lot of our decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Evan holding one of his favorite ornaments this year- our Hallmark train ornament with lights, movement and sound.
Here is Evie in action hanging ornaments.  Don't you just love how they are all ending up in the same location.

Mommy and Daddy had to try to explain to both kids that it was a good idea to space the ornaments out around the tree. :)
I also have to share a silly pic of the kiddos in their matching jammies.  Look at these faces!
Here is Evie seeing what face Evan is going to choose next. :)
This is also an adorable picture of the kids watching one of our many musical Christmas animals perform.
We are so excited to celebrate Christmas this year with out little ones and love seeing the joy of the season through their eyes.

Visit with Grandma Knight

Grandma Knight came for a visit during the weekend of November 19-21.  We had a wonderful time hanging out with her over the weekend.  The day she arrived we took her to the Roseville Holiday Parade.  Which we attended with our parade buds the Moons.  Here we all are below in our chairs waiting for the action to begin. :)
It was a real nice parade this year with lots of floats, dance groups, bands, old time cars, etc.  Here we are watching some of the fun.  We thought it was considerably longer than years past.  I think it had to do with the weather.  It was chilly outside, but no rain! :)
Evie was enjoying the candy that was distributed by all the parade walkers.  Yummy!
And of course one of the best parts of the parade seeing Santa Claus, who finishes the show.
Also, during our visit with Grandma Knight we went the Mandarin Festival on Sunday, November 20 in Auburn.  This was also a lot of fun.  It rained a bit while we where there, but the kids were loving getting the chance to wear their hoods.  They especially enjoyed this hill full of leaves that they could run and up and down too.
Evan and Grandma got to watch a Magic Show.
Here is Evan petting one of the stars of the show.
Besides having many varieties of delicious Mandarins (which we got samples from all the stations- so yummy!) the festival had free games for the kids.
We all had a wonderful time and will probably make this festival an annual tradition.  Funny story about this picture, right after I took it Evie stood up and bonked her head.  Poor baby girl! :(

First time Roller Skating

Our family went roller skating for the first time on Saturday, November 12, at Roller King Skating and Blading in Roseville with our good friend's the Avakian Family (pictured below- Carrie, Logan and Alan).  We all had the best time, especially Evan.
Here are Evan and Mommy out on the floor.
Silly boy!  It took him awhile to warm up to the idea of getting out and skating, but once he did he thought it was pretty cool.  However, it was a real back strengthening exercise for whoever took him out because he made you hold him up most of the time.  As seen from the pics below. :)
Our family at the rink.
Jim and Evan going out for a spill.  Another thing to note, they got rid of the wall for most of the floor.  There was only about 1/3 of the rink that had a wall to help those not so stable skaters.
Evie didn't want to miss out on the fun.  She got to try out the skates too.  We actually didn't buy her a pair of her own skates.  For one we didn't think they made them that small, but also because we didn't think she would really want to try it out.  But of course she had to do it!  Here she is testing out Evan's skates.  She was loving it!
We had a great afternoon.  Thanks LivingSocial for the deal and the Avakian's for encouraging us to go. ;)

Halloween with the Knights :)

Happy Halloween from Minnie Mouse and Woody!!!

Now here they are doing some silly faces.  They love their silly faces, can you tell?
Evie was so excited to be Minnie Mouse this year.  She choose the costume out herself.  Thank you Grandma Shirley!!!  We think that she is the Cutest Little Minnie Mouse that we ever did see. :)
Evan also selected his costume this year too, Woody!  He was the Handsomest Little Woody our side of the Wild West! :)  Thanks to our buds the Wisners too, for letting us borrow the boots, the outfit wouldn't have been the same without them.

Another cute pic of our little Disney duo.

Look at the Halloween love that took place.  Isn't this picture just priceless, I was so thankful my camera was cooperating for this. :)  Sure do love these munchkins.
Here are the kids in action ready to make their way to the first house of the night.  They were pretty excited.

This is them visiting two of our favorite neighbors, Miss. Nlida...
and Miss. Judy.  Miss. Judy gave the kids a special cupcake too.  Evie loved this and couldn't wait to go home and dig in. :)  She loves cupcakes.
Our neighbors get so into Halloween here is one of the awesome houses we visited with a whole Pirate theme.  It was amazing!  The slight blur of the picture is because of the fog machine. :)
The kids were done with trick or treating at about two blocks.  Evan was enjoying riding in the stroller we brought in case one of them got tuckered out.  He was very pumped up to head home so we could eat some of his treats.  Evie probably could have kept going for a bit, but was also excited to go home and eat the treats.  She wasn't as tired because we held her for a lot of the Trick-or-Treating because if she walked it would have taken us forever.  Gotta love those little legs. :)

Here they are back at home checking out their loot.  They were pleased!
What a fun evening.  We love Halloween as we get to be together as a family and also interact with our neighbors and build community.  Hope you all had great Halloween's this year like we did.  This picture was taken by Miss. Nilda when we visited her house for Trick-or-Treating.  Love the spider web- soooo spooky!

Apple Hill Adventure

We had so much fun this past Thursday, October 27 going to Apple Hill with our friends the Wisners and the Rhodes.  Above pictured at High Hill Ranch are Tyler, Hannah, Andrew and Evan.

We went in the afternoon so the crowds were not to bad and the kids were all ready and geared up for some fun.  Here they are pictured at our first stop Apple Ridge Ranch with the Farm Animals.
Here is little Jayne with one of the goats.
Evan super excited below to be pictured on this huge tractor.
Brother, sister fun...look at these two little munchkins.  So silly!
This was a special Haunted Nature Trail we all walked.  Basically a small path through some tress with Halloween Decorations, very appropriate for the little ones.  This attraction was at Grandpa's Cellars.

Evie wanted to be in the picture too. :)
Look at those scary poses Tyler and Andrew have...spooky!
We ended our afternoon of fun at High Hill Ranch.  Here we are at the water hole.  The kids were making us all a little nervous.  We didn't want anyone falling in.

At the water, the children made a friend with another little boy who caught a fish.  They thought this was pretty neat!
Then they all attempted to roll down the hill.  This was awesome.  The best was Evie wasn't too sure how to roll. She sure worked hard to make it happen though. :)
Some attempts to get all the kids together in one picture with the pumpkins...

Last I leave you with a picture of me and the kiddos at the end of our adventure.  We had to work hard to get all of us looking at the camera, as Evan wanted to continue playing with his buds, but we got a winner! :)  Sure was a wonderful afternoon.  Can't wait to go back again real soon!
On the ride home the kids couldn't wait to eat their apples and Mommy couldn't wait to eat her Apple Fritter with Daddy later on that night.  So yummy!
