Evan's new job

Evan has recently been enjoying pushing Evie in the stroller to get the mail this week.  He does a great job and Evie seems to enjoy it too!  Overall, it is a win win for everyone.

Here he is in action.
He is very serious about his job.
I got him to pose for me too, he was pretty proud of himeself I think. :)  Evie decided to look at the camera too.
Lastly, a picture with Daddy enjoying the moment.   Our little boy is getting so big! :)
Way to go team Knight!  Love you all!

Sacramento River Cat's Game

On Friday, June 18th we attended our first Sacramento River Cats game with our Growth Group from church.  Not only was this the first River Cats game for us, but it was also the first time either of the kids had ever been to a baseball game.  It was a lot of fun and Evan especially enjoyed the opportunity to run around.  We had really neat seats on the lawn.  It was perfect for kids.  Here Evan is before the game started with his buddy Savannah.  They loved roaming all over the green grass and this cement strip.
Here are Savannah and Evan again sitting in a chair together, this was the best picture we could get.  Evan wasn't exactly a willing participant, but I think they still look cute. :)
The night we attended the game it was $1 hot-dog and dessert night.  Here are the kids with their ice creams, pictured below are Macy, Issac, and Cameron.  Yummy!  Gotta love Savannah in the background, none of us are really sure what she is doing, but she looks especially great in this pic. :)  Our family thinks maybe she was trying to roll down the grass hill.
We really lucked out with a fabulous location on the grass for our first experience at a River Cats game.  We were right next to the field.
Here is a picture of the dads during the event, Travis with Gavin and Jim with Evie.
Here are some more of our friends, Bethany with Gavin, Olivia, and Carly with Ariel (she was on her lap, can't totally see her in this pic. ) :)  Notice how everyone now is bundled up.  It got very cold on June 18th and we actually had to leave the game early because we were freezing...gotta love strange summer weather.
Here is Jon with both Issac and Cameron as we leave the park, Ariel's in there too! :)
Lastly, a picture of Jim and Evie also leaving the park with the Raley Field sign in the background.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to attending again in the future.  This was also the perfect start to Jim's Father's Day weekend.

What time is it?

Evan has been very interested in my new watch I got from Jim for my birthday lately. With all of his interest I was reminded that we recently received a Sponge Bob watch with a kid's meal and we were storing it in his toy box.  Upon finding the watch, we immediately put it on Evan, who was very excited.  He didn't take it off all day.

Here is my little watch buddy on Saturday, June 12.
Here is another picture of Evan and his watch a little closer up.  Such a sweetheart.  I love how the watch makes him look so mature. :)

Evie's first trip to Southern California (Part 3 of 3)

Part three of our trip to SoCal.  The final saga! :)

I had two objectives for family fun that I really wanted to complete on this trip- Going to the Beach and Downtown Disney and eating at the Rainforest Cafe.  We accomplished both of them and they couldn't have gone any better.  Our family had so much fun and it was the start of doing things with the four of us.  I just loved it!

Here we are at the beach near Newport.  It was a beautiful day.
Evan and Jim had a blast running in the water.

My men!
Evie and I just watched, that was fine with us girls.
On Sunday evening, we got a chance to go to Downtown Disney.  We had perfect parking and again the weather was just right.  When we first got there we put our name in at Rainforest Cafe and decided to join their membership club, as it shortened your wait time by half and only cost $10, plus it never expires.  We probably would have paid even more, but the sale price of $10 was fabulous.  We only had to wait a half hour to be seated instead of the initial hour projection.  To kill time we walked around Downtown Disney.  It was perfect and something we had wanted to do anyways.  Here are the boys looking at the fountain.  Evan loved all of the water features, music, people, and excitement that was going around at the center.
We walked all the way to the Disney Store and even had a chance to check out the Lightening McQueen gear.  Fun times!

Our walk back provided perfect timing to then return to the Rainforest Cafe and immediately be seated.  Here we are at our table.  We got sat right next to the aquarium.  It was fabulous!
Me and Evie, she did amazing throughout the whole dinner and even fell asleep at the very end.
Evan and Daddy, in this picture he is just noticing the monkeys and is making the monkey noise.  Adorable!
Here he is with his eyes on the Elephants behind us.  He wasn't too sure about them, especially when they moved and made noise.

Evan really liked the restaurant overall; however, when the show began for the first time this is what he did.  He didn't look up even once.  Hilarious!  Poor guy, Daddy was there to protect him.

I can't wait to go back again to the Rainforest Cafe, especially once Evie gets bigger to see her reaction.

More family fun awaits and I couldn't be happier.  Looking forward to several family trips in the future.  This first one with all four of us was amazing!  Go team Knight!

Evie's First Trip to Southern California (Part 2 of 3)

Part two of our big trip.

We were also able to visit some of my former co-workers at CSU, Long Beach.  From left to right, top row, Wally, Pawan, Julie, Aaron, Sally, Beri, bottom row, Janice, Maryann, Evan, me, Evie and Jim.  It was so great to see all of them and catch up.  Go Beach! :)  We tried to wear our gold and black.
Noemi, Lily and Alexa arrived a little later that morning.

We also got to see our wonderful friends, Megan and Ryan, and their new bundle of joy Senna Ann.
Here are the girls with their babies.
Jim and I holding Senna.  Seems like just yesterday that both Evan and Evie were that little.
After these too visits, we headed to Riverside for the final leg of our stay.  No Southern California visit would be complete without seeing our family there.  This was the first time most of them got to meet Evie.  The cousins were super excited and rushed out to the car when we got there.  It was precious!

Here are most of the second cousins.  Robert loved holding Evan and Emma loved holding Evie.

Emma had a special girl bond with Evie.  Here they are together with Aunt Kathy.  Evie loved smiling and talking to Emma.
Here is a picture of Andrew too, he came to the party a little later. :)  Such a sweetie!

We all had so a great time during our visit, Bob and Debbie hosted us at their home for a lovely dinner, some exquisite dessert by Jim's sister, and some quality play time for the kids.  Evan really had a blast.  Here they all are playing in the backyard.
More pictures of Evie with the family, Bob and Megan.
Then of course Aunt Kathy, Becky and Debbie with Evie.  She was kind of losing at this point as it was getting close to bedtime; she really does love all of them. :)
During our trip to Riverside, Evie also got lots of love from Grandma Knight and Aunt Alison.
We love our family so much and can't wait to see you again soon.  Thank you for an amazing visit as always!

Evie's First Trip to Southern California (Part 1 of 3)

This blog post is long over due.  We recently traveled to Southern California for a nice extended weekend in May.  We headed down Friday, May 14 and returned on Wednesday, May 19.  It was our first long car ride as a family of four.  The children did amazing.  We couldn't have been prouder.  We really only had to stop two times both coming and going.  The great thing is that both stops were usually perfectly timed with eating and a nice little break for Evan to get out some energy.  Here we are during our first stop at McDonald's.
The hardest part of each drive was the last hour.  On our way to Southern California, this hour was most memorable.  We were almost out of gas, Evan got carsick and threw up, and Evie was in a non-stop crying mode.  However, one hour of insanity wasn't too bad, considering it was an eight hour plus trip. :)

During our visit we were fortunate to see lots of friends.  Our first stop was to visit the Bradley Family in their new home in Costa Mesa.  It was wonderful catching up.  We had hoped to see their daughter Lena, but unfortunately she wasn't feeling well and was resting during our stay.  Nevertheless, we had a fabulous time with her parents and can't wait to catch up with Lena during the summer on our WOFOFF trip. :)
Later that afternoon we got to reunite with our old Life Group from Rock Harbor.  Dan and Melissa Donovan hosted the event at their place around the pool.  It was so nice to see everyone and have good food and fellowship.  Below is a picture with Dan, Jim and Evie and Phillip.
Here is the family with the amazing Amanda! :)
Here are the girls, me and Evie with Jeane and Kahanah.
Pictured together below are the fab four, Amanda and Eric and Rachel and Roy.
We also got to see the beautiful Sarah and her lovely friend.
Last, but not least is a picture with Melissa and her new son, Joshua, with Evan and me. )
Thank you Life Group for an amazing afternoon and dinner!  We love you all and miss you so much.

Playing at the park

The kids and I recently had a wonderful time hanging out with our buds the Moons on Thursday, June 10.  It has been awhile since hanging out so it was great to be together again.  As always Jenn got some amazing pictures of our time together and I wanted to share them.

During our visit we went for a walk and visited the local ducks that live right next to our house.  They are very friendly and love a free meal.  Brittney and Evan had a blast feeding them.
Then we headed to the neighborhood park.  It is amazing to see all the new things Evan enjoys doing.  He is growing up very quickly.  He can now go on the big slide all by himself.  The picture below is cute, you can see Brittney cheering him on.
He loved this slide, and went down a lot.  His favorite was going down on his tummy. :)
After the slide the next big thing was the wood chips.  The kids were enjoying throwing them in the air like snow.  Jenn captured some fabulous pictures of this activity.  First they picked up the wood chips as seen below.
Then they threw them in the air!
Then they went back for more. :)
The girls were just sleeping/hanging out in their strollers during the fun.
The final highlight of our big walk was that the kids got to run home.
This was good for the children and the mommies as we hoped for nice long naps in the afternoon. :)  Love you Moons!
