SLO Visit and Shower
On Saturday, April 26, we took a trip to San Luis Obispo with our friends Chris and Lalani. It was a wonderful visit that included a fabulous baby shower. The time was amazing and we had so much fun catching up with friends, eating delicious food, and defintely taking part in lots of laughter and fun. This all took place because of the sweet idea of my former boss and friend at Cuesta College, Barbara. She and I are pictured below.
She then quickly involved my other awesome friends and former co-workers pictured from left to right, Elaine, Linda and Leslie. A really special treat was that even some of my friends that I used to work with that don't live in the area anymore were there in spirit celebrating our little guy- Julie and Jill you two are the best! Our family was blessed with so many nice things for our son. By the way, he had a great time too! :) Thank you all so very much!
We also got to celebrate with my good friend Carolyn and her daughter Lauren who live in the area. It was fantastic to be able to visit with each of them in person at the party, and Lauren was my little helper with all of the gifts. I couldn't have opened them without her assistance- thanks Lauren! :) Also a special congratulations to Carolyn and Gary on the blessing of their new baby due in October! Yeah for the Weyel family!
Lalani and I are pictured below at the shower enjoying some of the delicious chocolates that said "It's a Boy!" and the other had a baby bottle. So cute!
During the party, the boys all went out and had lunch at Applebees. Hosted by Elaine's husband Don. Overall the day was fabulous and we couldn't have asked for a better afternoon. Everyone was so very generous and kind. Thank you again friends!!! Jim even got to get in on the fun with the gifts as we saved this one for when we got back home since it was a little too large to travel with. It was a Pack 'n Play from Chris and Lalani- so cool!
Before we left San Luis Obispo, we were able to visit some of our favorite sites and of course get our baby boy his very own Cal Poly San Luis Obispo outfit and hat, matching with one that we got daddy of course. Oh so adorable! :)
We also drove through the SLO campus and got to admire the new buildings. We couldn't believe all the growth. The shot below is of the new dorms called Poly Canyon Village which will open in fall of 2008. Maybe our son will get to experience them one day.
We also stopped in Arroyo Grande for lunch before taking the final drive home and got some nice pictures with Chris and Lalani and our new friend the rooster as Lalani so beautifully points out below! This guy had a few other friends. Some which were other roosters and I think there also might have been a few hens. They were a nice bunch and pretty photogentic.

To see more pictures from our visit and the shower be sure to check out Our Photos to the right hand side of the blog and click on the Picasa Web Album link. Leslie also took some pictures at the party as soon as I get them I will post them too. Thank you again everyone for a very memorable and delightful weekend! We love you!

Doctor's Appointment
So on Friday, April 18, we went to the doctor. It was a good appointment as we did get to see our boy, but it was rather hard to make him out as he was head down, bottom to the left and feet to the right, and all we really could see was movement, a little spinal cord, and what appeared to be his feet and legs? The nurse practitioner that we saw that day tried to get a few good shots of his feet/legs since that is what he was flashing around, but ultimately we still had a hard time making them out from the ultrasounds. See if you can?

However, the important thing is that we got a report that he looks wonderful and continues to be flourishing and healthy! Yeah!

Six Months!!!
So yesterday I hit the big six month/24 week marker. It is pretty hard to believe- time is continuing to fly by. Here is the new belly shot. Our baby boy continues to be growing well. I feel him all the time now- he is pretty active (just as I wrote that he really did a big kick- kinda funny). We go to the doctor on Friday so I look forward to hearing his heartbeat and maybe seeing him again with an ultrasound. We will see! Thanks for tuning in to the latest on our little Knight.

Baby's First Swimsuit!
I couldn't resist, yesterday when I was at Old Navy, getting a few maternity outfits for myself (mainly because they were having a great sale and I finally found the Old Navy store that actually carries some of the maternity clothes in house at the Westminster Mall, rather than just finding it online), and discovered this adorable little swim outfit for our boy! I figured why not start him out early- not to mention that he is being born right in the heart of summer! :) For all those other mom's or soon-to-be moms out there I also found where the Gap sales maternity clothes in house, Baby Gap in South Coast Plaza has a good selection. I actually was there the day before, because they were also having a big sale too. I have found it hard to find maternity clothes in the stores; it is everywhere online, but I enjoy trying things on and getting it instantly. Hope this info. helps some of you out there! Have fun shopping- I sure did!!!

Debra's Bridal Shower
This past weekend we were in Sacramento for my brother, Rhett's finance's Bridal Shower, hosted by my Mom and Grandma. It was a great event. My brother is soon to be married to Debra Fraley on Sunday, May 18th. This shower was a nice opportunity to meet Debra's family and friends and have lots of girly fun in the process!

Below is a picture of Debra holding the bow bouquet that I made her at the shower and a real bouquet given by my brother's co-worker Terri.
This picture is of the two mom's together at the event. Both looking radiant with the bride -to-be, this was taken right before the cake cutting!
Here are the bridesmaids along with Debra and her mom, holding the beautiful necklace that we received from the bride to be worn on the big day! From left to right, Debra's mom Betty, her sister and maid of honor, Laura, Debra, me, and her brother's girlfriend, Tulsie.
During our visit we also got to do a little baby browsing the Friday before the party, with my Dad and Mom at a store called Goores. Jim and I price checked our desired baby furniture by Cocoon and it appears they are selling it cheaper than what we previously found at U.S.A. Baby and set up a registry for it there too!

We also got to hang out with Jim's Dad and and wife Deb. Baby boy Knight got spoiled again; each set of grandparents surprised us with some adorable clothes. You can see them pictured below. The first batch is from Pops and GrandDeb Knight and the other is from Grandma and Grandpa Thompson. Thank you so much- we love them and know our baby will be styling! Note the adorable Oakland A's overalls (Jim's Dad is a huge fan!). Gotta love it!
We had to get a shot of both the front and back of the below outfits. You will see why! Soooo cute!

Half way through!
I made it to 20 weeks, and the reality is that I am writing this post when tomorrow I will be 22 weeks. Man, how time flies! Below are new belly shots of me and the baby at 20 weeks. I also included in a belly shot from 18 weeks just so you could compare the growth. Pretty crazy! Pregnancy continues to be a joy and Jim and I can't wait to meet our little boy very soon.

Happy St. Pat's Birthday Jim!
Today is Jim's birthday and while the weekend of celebration started out beautifully the actual birth"day" was a little nutty. Beginning with the fact that our plumbing clogged up last night in the shower and we also had a baby's doctor appointment, not to mention that work for both of us was really busy as Monday's tend to be. However, nevertheless, we were determined to make sure Jim had a fabulous birthday and I think we did it!
Pictures of the many festivities can be seen below...
The partying began on Sunday, Jim's mom and sister joined us for lunch, an afternoon of gifts and cake and then a night out at the Curtain Call Dinner Theater to see Forever Plaid.

On Jim's actual birthday, St. Patrick's Day, I surprised Jim by pulling some of our friends together for a very last minute dinner (I called them all at about 4:30 p.m. to be exact and the dinner was at 6:00 p.m. that night). Thanks Corey, Kimberly, Dan, Melissa and Catherine. You guys rock! Jim had a great time and was truly surprised! After dinner, B.J.'s gave Jim a complimentary Pizookie which you will see Jim blowing out the candle below.

We then had a wonderful night out with our friends Lalani and Chris on Saturday, March 22 at the Lazy Dog Cafe! It was fabulous and we even got a free appetizer since it was Jim's birthday! Below you can see the nifty gift Jim received. He even tried it out that night. He loves anything that flies.

Thank you to everyone for helping Jim celebrate this momentous occasion! Happy Birthday Sweetie! :)
