Evan's 5th Lego Birthday Party!

Get ready for a ton of pictures!!!

We had Evan's 5th Birthday Party on Saturday, August 10 at our house.  It was a real great time.  He selected his party theme to be Legos.  So I did my best to incorporate all things Lego.  Of course the Internet never fails at providing some amazing ideas.  To start things off guests were welcomed with this nifty sign as they came in the door.  I had bought some knock off type Lego blocks at the Dollar Tree and Hot Glued them to the sign.
Then everyone was encouraged to play "Guess How Many Lego's are in the Jar?"
After everyone arrived we began the games.  It started off with a Lego Relay Race.
Elaine tried to take off with the bucket the kids had to put the Legos in.  Ha ha ha!
Our second game was Lego Towers.  All the kids were given the same amount of Lego Bricks and timed for a minute to see who could build the tallest tower as a team.  For both outside games we opted to use Duplo Legos instead of losing precious small big kid Lego pieces in the grass.
I love how the little sisters wanted to get in on the fun too as you can see in the above picture and below too.
Final team towers pictured below.
Our third game was Pin the Hat on the Lego Guy.
Evan gave a demo of what to do.
Here is a great picture of Tyler in action and you can also see all of the hats that had already been placed.

Another fun game we played that was taking place throughout the party was "I Spy the Little Lego Guy."  I had five of them hidden throughout the house for the kids to find.  Here is a picture of one of them I hid in the bathroom.

Lastly, everyone was given their very own Lego Vehicle and Man.  These were little packets that I found at Michael's.  They actually were a knockoff Lego product, but are compatible with Lego's and look just like the little figurines that you get with Lego's.  The price was right to get everyone a kit and I also was able to use a 20% off coupon towards my whole purchase which made it even better.  Below is a picture of the kids waiting patiently for me to pass out a little kit to them.

Here is Evan working hard to put his together.

Grandpa helped Evie put her's together.

Uncle Rhett and Aunt Debra were also hard at work.

Can't forget the Grandmas who were also trying to assist.

This was a great activity that got pretty much all the parents involved helping the kiddos.

Here is Evie showing off her finished product.

After all the activities it was lunch time.

Then cake!

We bought a store bought cake, added Lego candles and some Lego figurines and it transformed into our very own Lego cake.

Here is Evan smiling big as we all get ready to sing to him.
Then here he is blowing out the candles.
Lastly it was present time.  We opted to do it outside this time.  As usually it was mad chaos as all the kids were super excited to give their gifts to Evan and see what was in all the packages.  Aunt Debra managed to get some pretty awesome pictures to capture all of the excitement and the very special family and friends with Evan and some of their gifts.

Grandma Knight was at the party in spirit; earlier that month she had come to visit and celebrate with Evan and surprised him with this awesome basketball hoop.
Lastly, here is a great picture of Evan with some of his Preschool buddies who were able to come to the party; Cameron, Miles and Charlie.
All the children took home a fun Lego Goodie bag.

Here is a picture of the Lego themed items that were inside.  The blue rectangle is actually a Hershey's Bar wrapped in construction paper to look like a Lego.  The little book is a small coloring book I found online and made for all the kiddos.
Here is a picture of the prize box I created for the party games too.  The box container was actually a throw away item a store had as a display piece.  It was nice to be able to incorporate it into the party theme.  The Lego bubbles and straws were also two dollar store items that I transformed into Lego themed prizes.
Just for fun here are two pictures of some of the Lego party decorations and signage.

Can't believe this amazing little boy is 5 years old.

Happy Birthday to the most fantastic, special, fun-loving son!  We love you so much Evan!!!!!

Thank you to everyone who helped him to have such a special and wonderful birthday!  We love you!!!
