Knight Tales: Evan's First Easter

Evan had a great first Easter. It was filled with lots of fun activities! It started with our sweet next door neighbor Judy getting Evan his first Easter Basket filled with this adorable lamb pictured below. It also included Holy Week activities with our new church Creekside, which included a Sedar dinner on Tuesday night, a Church potluck/feast on Thursday, and a Good Friday Service (Mommy and Evan worked the nursery for this event).

On Good Friday we were also scheduled to have our MOPS Easter Egg Hunt, but it was canceled due to the rain. So sad! Nevertheless, we did get to celebrate indoors at our house with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson who gave Mommy and Daddy delicious See's Candy and chocolate covered marshmallow eggs as well as some beautiful Easter decorations. Grandma Shirley also gave Mommy some beautiful decorations for the house too! :)

Evan got a super fun new toy from Grandma and Grandpa Thompson, his first dump truck that he can ride on and push around the house.

On Saturday we woke up early to what was the most beautiful sunshine day and headed out to the the 2nd Annual Chick-Fil-A Easter Egg Extravaganza with the Moon Family. It was so much fun. The kids got to participate in all of the festivities which began at 9:00 a.m. Their was an egg hunt that the kids to to participate in that featured 10,000 eggs and 10,000 prizes all for free! The cool thing was that they had REAL GRASS brought in to cover over 2,800 sq feet of the parking lot for the most perfect hunting grounds! The Egg Hunt was split up into 5 age groups.....0-2 year olds were at 9:00am. This was Evan and Brittney's group. Mommy's and Daddy's could help the little ones so I helped Evan and Jeremy helped Brittie. Here is a little video of the egg hunt it was over in less than a minute. Both families made out pretty well, we didn't get the free Ipod, but lots of free food at Chick-Fil-A was awarded and yummy Jelly Belly candies. :)

The whole event was so neat and loads of fun for the entire family including character appearances by the Chick-fil-A COW and his friends the Easter Bunny, Mr. Jelly Belly and McGruff the Crime Dog. We also took part in several of the event sponsors Prize Wheels. Here are a few pictures from the morning.

Then we headed over to Fountain's in Roseville for another egg hunt conveniently timed at 11:00 a.m. These eggs contained candy and fun stickers and plastic toys. The kids were invited to do crafts too and to take a picture with the Easter Bunny. The whole morning was a blast. We also were able to get some adorable pictures of the munchkins together.

After both egg hunts Evan was exhausted! I just love that he is still holding on to one of his eggs in this picture. :)

Once he had a little nap he decided to play with his eggs for awhile. Jim and I just couldn't get enough of how he would chase the eggs around and pick them up and shake them. He is such a smartie the way he could determine the difference in each egg by shaking them. You can see him in action below in the video.

Later that evening we had a delicious meal at Lucille's BBQ with my family. Thank you Grandma Shirley!

Easter morning we woke up and Evan got to find his Easter Basket. He loved it, especially the bag that contained all of the goodies! :) We also got our family a set of Resurrection Eggs and went over them with Evan. We plan to do this every year. It is a great reminder of the true Easter story for kids.

After all the fun with baskets our family got dressed up and ready for church to celebrate our Savior's Resurrection.

The day after Easter Evan was still having fun with all of the eggs and grass from his basket and Mommy was having fun with the camera and dressing up her little bunny! I just can't get enough of this cutie pie! :)
