River Cats Date Night

We had a date night on Friday, June 22.  We got to go out to the Sacramento River Cats game vs. Fresno Grizzlies.  We had awesome seats (awhile back we had bought some tickets to support a local neighborhood kid's sports program).  We were in the Gold Rush area, section 120, row 6 (near third base), seats 16-19 on the aisle.  The weather was perfect too, actually got a little cold (so crazy).  We had the best time and took our friends, Travis and Bethany.  This date was also made possible by my wonderful parents who watched the kids for the night!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The nice thing about our date and the particular game we attended was that it was dollar hot dog and dessert night.  Not the healthiest of meals, but we all lived it up! :)  Also a helpful tip: avoid the ballgame popcorn looks pretty, smells yummy, but mainly just super salty.  Bethany also had a salted pretzel that was way too salted as well.  We all figured we had our sodium content for the night and then some.  Me and baby also enjoyed some delicious Red Vines, so addicting and I love them!

In conclusion the River Cats won, except we didn't stay to see it.  The game went into overtime and finally ended up concluding around 11:00 p.m. with a home-run win from the River Cats defeating the Grizzles 2-1.  We headed back about 10ish when it started to go into overtime to help relive our sitters.

Surprise Baby Shower

Our family received a very special Surprise Baby Shower from our amazing Life Group on Wednesday, June 20.  Along with good friends and fellow Life Group members the Cunninghams who will also be having their third baby at the end of the month too.  It was awesome and we felt so very loved!  We also got super hooked up with Diapers!  Yippee...here's to poop and pee pee!

Here are Bethany and I at the party.  I am 37 weeks and she is 35 weeks pregnant, both with precious baby girls.
Beautiful Pam cutting the cake for all to enjoy.  It was delicious!
This is an adorable diaper bassinet and cake tower that our friend Heather made for both Bethany and I.  I just love how Elmo is the baby in the basket.  So creative!  Thank you Heather!
Here are the special women in our Life Group.  From left to right, Olivia, Heather, Sara, Sarah, Carly, me, Tatyana, Bethany, Missy, Melissa and Pam.
And the men...they were hoping for a similar picture like the ladies.  What good sports Jim and Travis are. :)
Okay, here is the real shot.  From left to right, Dan, Tait, Jon, Mike, Jim, Travis, Aram, Gage, and Scott.
Then of course we had to get a picture that included the little boys as well.
Our kids were enjoying the party too, especially the cake.  However, Wednesday night was super hot and the heat was taking a toll on Evan.  He kept either falling or getting his feelings hurt.  Thus, why he looks a little out of sorts in the picture above.

Some additional pictures of the fun had that evening at Misty Wood Park.

Our kids were right there with everyone enjoying the park too!
A huge thank you to our friends for this wonderful celebration.  We are very blessed to have you all in our lives!  Lots of love and can't wait for you to meet our little girl in just a few short weeks and/or days. :)
The fun continues...the next day the kids found some great ways to play with Baby Sister's gifts too. :)

Father's Day Weekend

We had a very nice Father's Day weekend (expect for the fact that it was SUPER HOT- literally around 108 or so) and got to celebrate all the special Dads in our life.

Here is Jim pictured below with his two little cuties who think he is just awesome!
We celebrated Jim all weekend taking him out to get some new fancy flip flops that he had been wanting.  We had a delicious lunch at B.J.'s (where he also got a complimentary Father's Day pint glass) and then we let him work on the front yard.  Our weekend also included purchasing a pottery water fountain that we had been searching for the past couple of weekends for the landscaping project too.  We have been diligently trying to finish this project before Baby Girl comes.  We are almost there. :)  Saturday evening our family got to finish the day with some well deserved water fun time and bbq fajitas.  Delicious!

On Sunday, we were able to hang out with my Dad in the evening and the rest of the Thompson Family (minus Debra who unfortunately was not feeling well).  We celebrated by eating some yummy Round Table pizza.  Then we headed back to my parents house for some fun where the kids could play around and have races and tickle wars with Grandpa.
We also talked to Jim's Dad to wish him a Happy Father's Day, but were unable to see him because he was on an RV adventure.

A special thank you to all the Fathers- We love you!  You're AWESOME and have blessed all of us in so many wonderful ways.

My Two Kiddos!

A morning at Walmart on June 6, enjoying my two little blessings.  Don't they just look so cute?!?!  The best is when they are super lovey to each other and give hugs and kisses.  They were doing this in the cart, but sometimes it only lasts for a little bit then one starts to get bugged or both and either one is out of the cart or in the basket.  Oh the memories!  Treasuring them and savoring the crazy.  Thank you God for all the special things I get to enjoy with my children, even everyday moments like getting groceries at Walmart! :)

My Birthday Weekend

I had a wonderful birthday memorial weekend.  This year was fun as I actually was born on Memorial Day and my birthday was taking place on it again this year so I was able to celebrate all weekend long.  Thank you to all the family and friends who helped make my special day...awesome!

Saturday evening I got to celebrate with my whole family at Claim Jumpers...
and then back home for some yummy and deliciously moist bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cake.
Sunday Jim and the kids and I went to Fairytale Town (this place has a bunch of cool slides as you will see from the pictures below).  We were planning to go to the zoo because we had a free coupon from LivingSocial, but there was a gigantic line and we didn't really want to wait.

I love this pic of the kids, Evie is saying one more time!  They were loving this slide and going down together.  Precious!
On my actual birthday I had a real treat...Jim and I got to go on a full length date...dinner and a movie!  It was a super special, generous gift my MOPS group had given me for Coordinating for the past two years.  It included gift cards for Mikuni's and the movies, plus baby sitting from my awesome friend Paula and her family!  We had the best time and loved the food and the show.  We finally saw the Hunger Games.  Neither of us had read the book, but the movie was great and both of us have enjoyed getting all the extra details from friends that have read the book series.  Maybe one of these days we will make the effort to read the books too. :)

Thanks again everyone for a fabulous Birthday!  Love you!

Safety Day

We were able to go to Safety Day at the Mall again this year on Saturday, May 19 and had the best time.  Especially Evan, he got to do two obstacle courses.  One that involved him using a real life fire hose...
and another where he was able to run this really neat exercise course that helps train Police Officers.

Evie was able to get into the fun too!  Here she is waiting for the fire obstacle course to start.  So serious- but adorable in her hat and glasses!
