Our One and Half Year Old

Where has the time gone...our boy turned 18 months old on Sunday, February 7. Evan is just growing like a weed and gets bigger, wiser, and more fun each and every day! :)

These days he can be found doing just about everything or so it seems that way at times. Some of his favorite activities include: rolling around on the ground, climbing on any object that will hold him (especially chairs, his high chair, tables, and large toys), spinning around until he falls over, wrestling with Daddy, Mommy and friends (especially his good buddy Tyler), kissing and hugging little sister Evie, buckling his straps in his stroller, car seat, high chair, etc., blowing kisses, reading books (his favorites include anything with Lightening McQueen and "The Going to Bed Book," playing with cars, and watching his favorite movie "Cars", along with some of his favorite television shows, "The Wiggles," "Caillou," Sid the Science Kid," Sesame Street," and "Make Way for Noddy," to name a few. :)

He is a pretty good eater. He continues to enjoy cheese and fruit. He has been expanding his pallet which is fabulous. The hardest part is sometimes you have to just stick things in his mouth because he won't try it if he doesn't know what it is...

This is a particularly funny picture...he feel asleep during eating his super healthy lunch of Taco Bell. :)

He finally is drinking more milk again. Yippee! :)

He loves playing outside or purely being outside. Especially going to get the mail and the park. He can go down the slide all by himself now too. Such a big boy.

Pushing buttons of any kind is a big thrill lately too, especially opening the garage door and turning on the lights on or off in the house.

He also is very stubborn and can throw a good tantrum any day of the week. His favorite lately is throwing himself on the floor when he doesn't get his way. Below is a picture of him in action (his Aunt Alison took this during their visit). :)

Evan has been an excellent sleeper lately. Which is a huge blessing since we haven't had the best amount of sleep having a newborn in the house again.

He continues to fascinate us by his knowledge. He can put his shapes in the shape sorter all by himself without much help, can turn his toys on and off, and he comes up with new words and actions every day. He loves saying oh oh and whee, along with No (still a favorite), however, yea has been added into the vocab..he knows yes, but it still doesn't sound like yes unless you are around him a lot. He also continues to use his signs and is pretty good about saying thank you and please. He usually has to be reminded, but will do it! :)

Overall Evan is just a super fun kiddo that we love to pieces and can't wait to see excel more and more. It is especially going to be fun now that we have Evie for him to interact with. He currently gets a big kick out of her and gets this special little giggle when he sees her. By the way he made up a new laugh too. So funny! It is kind of like a high pitched cackle.

Here are just a few more shots of our baby boy for your enjoyment!

We love you Evan! :)
