Knight Tales: Christmas memories!

The Knight family had a wonderful Christmas full of fabulous memories. Here is one of the best, our little guy in his Santa suit on Christmas Day and the only picture that we could get of him smiling, looking at the camera, in front of the tree, and with his hat on all at the same time! Hallelujah! A true Christmas miracle! :)

The holidays started with an early celebration with Grandma Knight and Aunt Alison in Riverside in the beginning of December on the 6th. We had a great time opening presents and watching Evan in action. He started to perfect his opening skill at this gathering. Here he is opening his own gift and also below helping Daddy and Mommy.

Then once Christmas Eve hit he was a pro with unwrapping. First thing we did that day was our family attended our church's Christmas Eve service with my parents. Here are some pictures before we left for the service.

It was a real nice service and Evan came to big church too. All the kids were present - it was chaotic as you can imagine. However, he did so good, they gave all the kids goodie bags (contents included a bag of Fruit Loops- this was his first tasting of the cereal and he loved them eating the whole bag, little toys- Evan got two of the Three Wise Men, and a cool ring). He also got to see his friend Amber and gave her the sweetest hug. Here they are pictured together.

We then met up with the rest of my family at Mimi's where my Grandma treated us to a wonderful dinner. Evan again did fabulous; we were so proud of him. He ate lots of food, especially sweets and was pretty good at entertaining himself through the meal even though it was way past his normal time to eat. Lastly, that evening we went over to my Grandma's house and opened presents. It was a great time of family and fun. Here are some pictures from the festivities.

Christmas morning started off with an early bang at about 6:15 a.m. or so. Even though Evan totally went to bed late about 10:00 p.m. he woke up super early. Maybe he knew Santa visited. :) We ate breakfast first, this is Evan's normal routine, and then we asked Evan if he wanted to get a present under the tree and he marched right in and grabbed one to open. It was so cute. The best part is that he opened up one of his absolute favorites. We didn't realize it at the time of purchase, but now that he has this new "Cars" obsession, the gift was just perfect. He got the character Mack and Lighting McQueen to play with. Mack actually can shot Lightening out of his big rig. Super fun! However, he was definitely open to the idea that there were additional presents to open and even helped Mommy and Daddy open their gifts. We had such a wonderful morning and look forward to this treasured tradition every year.

The funny thing is that we purchased several "Cars" items not totally planning on having a fanatic on our hands, but it all worked out real well. He also got a few Elmo things, which he enjoys but has placed closer to second or third. Thomas the Tank Engine is in there somewhere too.

At about noon we got a visit from Pops and GrandDeb Knight who showered Evan and Mommy and Daddy, along with Baby Girl, with a few more presents. We had a lot of fun with them. Evan was so excited to open more gifts and especially loved the new rocket vehicle they got him. He could barely wait for assembly to take place. We had a real nice visit with lunch. So delightful!

Lastly, we headed to my parents house for Christmas dinner and yet again a few more presents. At this point, Evan, did have a nap, but woke up early and was cranky. I think the mix of fancy food, sweets, a different schedule, and lots of activity all added up. He did pretty good at the get together, but had a break down at dinner and only wanted Daddy to hold him and play. The good news is Mommy was able to eat in a little peace, while Daddy tried to calm our little dude. After the breakdown and we had dinner for the most part. :) We opened more presents, which Evan was excited about. At this point he was a gift unwrapping pro and was really getting into the opening.
