Roseville Police & Fire Community Safety Day

On Saturday, May 21, our family attended the Roseville Police and Fire Community Safety Day with some of our friends from Life Group.  Olivia and Issac are pictured below...

and Travis, Gavin, Bethany and Savannah.
We all had the best time together at this event!  Here are some of the things we did.

All the kids got to bounce, get balloon animals and their faces painted.

All the families got lots of free giveaways, including these cool Home Depot aprons and little plants.  I even found out later that day after leaving the event that I won a raffle.  So cool! :)

Evan even wanted to give a character and hug and get his picture taken with him.  This was all his doing; I had to go back and get the picture as I was walking away from the situation.  I was very impressed and excited.
The best part of the day I think for all of us, but especially for Evan was having the opportunity to get in every safety vehicle at the event.  It was adorable how thrilled he and the other kids were to be riding in all of the cars and trucks.
I think this was one of his favorites that day.
Doesn't he look proud of himself after coming down. :)
Mommy and Evie got in on the fun too.  Here we all are in the back seat of the firetruck.
This was my favorite picture of the day.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!
The ambulance driver and the...
ambulance EMT.  So cool!
Evie checked out the back of the ambulance too.
I think this was another one of Evan's favorites to ride.

This was such a great event and I very much enjoyed all the time with friends and family.  Thanks Roseville!  We loved it!

Our little girl...

enjoys playing in the dirt!  Here is Evie on May 14 digging away at a recent Work Day with the church at one of the local elementary schools we have been supporting.  She was having the best time and so was I taking her picture. :)

While this was going Evan was rolling down a hill with his buddy Cameron.  Oh to be young! :)

 Weeeee :)

Eventful Mother's Day Recap

This year I had a very eventful Mother's Day.  It began with Evan making the most precious flower for me in his Bible Study class on Tuesday mornings.  Here he is posing with it in the picture below.  This was my first truly homemade gift from him.  I loved it and it was such a surprise! :)

We decided to actually celebrate Mother's Day during Mother's Day weekend this year because Jim had to head out of town on Mother's Day right after church.  So overall the weekend was great.  Jim came home on Friday with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and a Happy Mother's Day balloon.  It was a super sweet surprise.  Then we spent some wonderful family time together, I got to get a facial, we had dinner with some friends at Red Robin and I even got to get a few new clothes for summer.  Overall, it was an amazing weekend.

However, once the actual Mother's Day hit, we had a bit of a meltdown.  It all started when we had requested Evan to wear some new clothes.  He had a huge tantrum.  It was glorious! :)  Ultimately, he ended up wearing the shirt requested, but he wasn't very happy about it.  He would not put on the vest at all.

After church I had hoped to just get a few pictures of us all together.  This was another challenge.  Evan didn't want to smile.  However, we managed to get this family picture below.  Jim had to try and tickle Evan while the picture was being taken.  It kind of worked. :)
On Mother's Day I was treated to some great gifts. The beautiful flowers and balloon I described above, a special small colander I wanted (per recommendation from Carly - I love it by the way ;) ), and the movie Tangled!  This too was such a great surprise.  My family was very thoughtful, and I can't forget to mention the other sweet cards and gifts that I got from my Grandma, my parents, and Jim's family too.  Love you all and thank you so much!

And here are a few more pictures we got on Mother's Day.  I was able to get a cute picture of Evie.  She is wearing a special dress her Grandma Knight got for her.  So pretty!
I also managed to get a cute picture of the kids attempting to kiss each other.  These two sure do love each other!
This was one of the sweet little drawings that Jim helped the kids make for me too.  Here is Evie making a few final touches.
Lastly, one of the best pics I got of my son on Mother's Day.  I only got him to pose for pictures by making silly faces.  I don't remember what we were going for here in this face, but I liked it! :)

I sure do love my family and all the crazy times together!  By the way, Mother's Day ended with a bang.  After Jim left for his trip, me and the kids drove to meet up with my family for some food at the Radisson. Well, Evan feel asleep in the car, then work up grumpy and didn't want to talk to anyone.  Evie was ready to run around the restaurant.  Needless to say, our dining adventure was a big mess.  Neither of the kids was doing great.  We actually ended up leaving and heading home.  All, in all the expereince wasn't a total loss.  I think Evan learned that we can't behave like this and will hopefully know better for the next time.  With Evie it was a little harder to explain what had taken place to her, but hopefully she will do better next time too.  Again, I still had a great Mother's Day.  I did feel bad to have to leave my family at the restaurant, but they understood, which I am very thankful.  :)

May Park Fun

Evie loves the swings!

Here is Evan playing with water.  This is one of his favorite past times.
Both kids enjoy pushing the stroller, but here is Evie trying it out for awhile.
Another picture of the kids swinging.  This time on the big kid swings.  Look how proud Evie is of herself.  I love that smile.

Easter Sunday, April 24

My beautiful princess, Evie Joy, all dressed up in her Easter dress ready to go to church.

Below is a picture with Momma's little handsome man, Evan Asher.  This was the only picture he was willing to really pose for that day and it had to be with Mommy.  I did have a little tie and vest that came with this outfit too, but he wasn't having it.  Jim and I were lucky to get him in this shirt.  However, a funny side note, all the boys in his Sunday School class were also wearing very similar green shirts.  When he saw this I think he felt a lot cooler. :)
This was the best family picture we got on Easter Sunday and we had to have it taken with a present.  Evan just wasn't in the mood.  I think I burnt him out on pictures because I basically was taking them all weekend long throughout all the Easter festivities.
Our Easter Sunday consisted of going to church in the morning with my parents and then a day of family and fun celebrating that Christ has Risen!

Here is a picture with Grandma and Grandpa and Evie.
After church the family came over, my Grandma, Aunt Debra and Uncle Rhett, and Pops.  It was so nice to all be together for Easter.  Here is a picture of the girls that day.
Once everyone arrived, the kids and I changed into something a little more comfortable, and before our Easter feast we had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in the backyard.  My Mom, Debra and I hide the eggs, while the kids were distracted inside by everyone else.  It was a good thing we had the hunt before we ate too because while we were eating it started raining.  Such weird Easter weather this year.

This was a fun picture Debra got of a special Lightening McQueen egg.  The cool thing was a car was hidden in here.  Evan was loving it!
Here is Evan in action during the hunt.
Evie was having a good time too.  Here she is opening one of the eggs during the hunt.
Evan was being an especially sweet brother on Easter and sharing some of the eggs he found with Evie.  Makes your heart melt as a Mommy.
Here is my handsome hubby helping Evie to find some eggs too.
I just love how Evan got into searching for the eggs.  The kids are both at such fantastic ages.
Evie's basket got so heavy at the end of the hunt that she started dragging it along on the grass.  Adorable!
Here is the family watching the kids search for the eggs from the Easter Bunny.
After all the fun of the egg hunt, we headed inside for some delicious food.  Here are Pops and Jim carving the ham.  This was the first time Jim and I ever baked a ham.  I think it turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself. :)
Here is the fam eating.  I am that horrible family member that makes people take pictures while they are eating.  I think I got my Dad photographed mid-bite.  Sorry family!  I love you and thanks for the memories and for posing for my pictures. :)
After the meal, we all got to enjoy this cute and yummy bunny cake I made for dessert!
The kids couldn't wait to dig in and enjoy! :)
After all the Easter festivities, the kids were tired.  Both took great naps.  Here is Evan passed out on the chair.
This is a picture I just wanted to share of Evie and the very cute tie and vest that came with Evan's outfit.  I put it on Evie and she wore it well.  I was glad someone could get some use out of it. :)

We had such wonderful Easter.  The most important thing was the celebration of Christ's Resurrection and that we did!  My favorite part of Easter this year was when Evan said on Easter that "Christ has Risen!"  Praise God for this and for my family!  Hope you all had great Easters too.  Sorry I am soooo late in posting this, but better late than never, right?!?!
