Six Months Old

Elaine turned 6 months old on January 8.  So much has been going on for this little princess.  Here are the highlights:

-She got her 1st Tooth right around New Years.  Second tooth popped up on Monday too!  She is chewing on everything in site.
- She loves her tongue and enjoys feeling her tooth I think the most.
-She can say Dadda (this has been going on for the last two or three weeks).
-Elaine loves to stand with support.
-She enjoys siting up too and is really sturdy, but still does tumble down once in awhile and is pretty sad when she gets a bonk. The poor baby has this super sad face what that happens.
-She likes to be with her Momma, and also can get the super sad face if she sees Momma is around but not holding her, unless it is Daddy holding her.
-Exersaucers are pretty awesome now days too.
-Elaine loves to also roll over and can turn back and forth.  This has really developed since being six months and she is moving really great to date.  Just a few weeks ago she would get frustrated at not being able to role over as easily.
-She has had her first real Food: Rice Cereal and Oatmeal.  She also has dined on Sweet Potatoes.  She is eating it all, but does also tend to spit a lot right back out.  So not tons going in, but trying it. She mostly just likes to chew on the spoons and get really messy.

Happy 6 months little darling!  As I write this blog post you are actually 7 months today!  Where is the time going...you just keep getting more and more cute every day if that is even possible.  We love you very much Elaine Grace!

Rolling Exersaucer

Elaine's first time in rolling exersaucer happened on January 7.  I think Evan and Evie were more excited than Elaine to show her how everything worked.  Good times!

Here they are all posing pretty, except Elaine wanted to test this thing out.

Visit with San Luis Obispo Friends

Over the summer after our annual WOFOFF Trip on the Sunday before we were to head back home, we got the very special opportunity to have an amazing visit with our precious friends I used to work with at Cuesta College back when Jim and I first got married.  We had a wonderful time and were treated to some delicious lunch by some of the best hosts I know, Leslie and Gary- Thank you friends!  It was a great gathering and such a nice time to catch up.  The kids had a blast too and really loved the playroom and special toys Leslie and Gary had at their home.  In the picture below from left to right, we have Leslie, Gary, Ruth, Barbara, me, Elaine, Evan Elaine, and Evie.
This trip was also very special because Elaine got to meet our other very special friend, Elaine. :)
Elaine thought she was pretty cool and enjoyed meeting her, and enjoys sharing names with her too.
Sure do love these friends and are so blessed to be able to stay in contact with them through the years.

WOFOFF 2012

This year's WOFOFF Trip brought us back to Cayucos and happened during the weekend of September 20-24, 2012; it was the 7th annual trip.  Kind of hard to believe.  We had a great rental house that fit all of us comfortably (7 adults and 7 kids) and really allowed the kiddos some space to run around and have fun too.

This trip was also our first big road trip with Elaine.  She did amazing!  All the kids did really. :)

We first meet the Davidsons at the rental house in Cayucos when we got into town.  The best part is that Evan thought that the house was theirs (since they were there before we got there and greeted us at the door) and still refers to it as Sammy's house and wants to know when we can go back. :) Next we headed to SLO for a nice visit to Farmers Market on Thursday night.  We dined at The Natural Cafe.  Here are some pictures from our dinner.
Then we met up with everyone again to walk the streets a bit at Farmers.
Look at our cute little Elaine all bundled up.
Then on Friday, her she is all bright eyed and busy tailed when she woke up in the morning at the rental house. :)
On Friday we all headed out to the beach.  The kids were super pumped to use their sand toys that we packed.  Here they are in action at the beach.  Lena is in the background flying a kite.

Elaine got in on the fun too and was loving being at the beach.
Here are the kids with Dad checking out the water.
The kids got to swing at the beach too.
Elaine took a little siesta.  We got a couple nice pictures with the waves in the background.  This was her first time at the Beach.
We also got to have a real nice walk on the Cayucos Pier.
Here are all the big kiddos.  From left to right, Evie, Evan, Lena, Sammy, and Micah.
Look how close this pelican let us get to him.  Here, Andrew is pretending to box with it. Evie and I got in on the picture too.
A couple group pics at the beach.
The rental house we stayed at, had a nice hot tub too.  It was great to relax in after the kids all went to sleep.
Here are Evan and Sammy hanging out in their pajamas on Saturday morning.  These too had the best time together.
They especially loved riding bikes together.
I love this high five picture Jim captured.  The shadow is so cool too!
There also was a neighborhood park that we all enjoyed.  Here are some cute pics of the fun.  The neat thing is we went to this park our first time having WOFOFF in Cayucos a couple years ago when Evan was only 1 year's old.
Even the big kids had fun.

Here is Evan trying to imitate Daddy.
After the park and some lunch back at the house, all of us headed to Cal Poly to tour the campus and see all the updates, check out the bookstore, and reminisce of our days before children.

Evan and Sammy had a blast and found these matching Frisbees at the bookstore.
Evan did find out that the Frisbee wasn't too strong after his busted the first hour after having it.  Here he is trying to put it back together.  We should mention he was playing kind of rough with it and really did test out the limits; probably should have checked on a refund, but he wasn't too bummed and it still did fly so we accepted its new state.
Our family photo on Dexter Lawn and our not so cooperative crew posing.  Memories!
After relaxing on campus a bit we all headed downtown to dine at Firestones.  Delicious!

Then we all attempted to save some room for a new dessert place we discovered in town called Batch.
They served unique ice cream sandwiches.
Lastly, on Sunday, the final day of our trip a picture of Elaine wiped out! :)  Just love this adorable picture of her sleeping Sunday morning.
The kids hanging out after bonding all weekend too.  It was so precious to see their friendships develop.
Excited to see this happen for the baby girls in the future too.  Here they are at their first WOFOFF- Colette 5 months and Elaine 3 months.
All in all, it was another incredible WOFOFF weekend!  It is always so great to be able to visit with each other and catch up on life.  There is never a dull moment on these weekends.  They are filled with non-stop laughs and fun for both parents and kids alike.  Here is the fabulous group picture on our final morning of the trip.
And of course the silly pic.  I leave with you a few of these group shots with red vines.  It is tradition that every year, our buddy Ben, brings a huge tub of red vines.  So we thought why not pose with them this year. :)

Thanks again to everyone for a fantastic trip!  We love you all and are so thankful for your friendship.  We missed you this year Wisners...looking forward to being all reunited again next year!  GO WOFOFF!
