Evan's First Flight and Southern California Visit

On Friday, March 13th our family got the opportunity to visit Southern California for a jam packed weekend visit with friends and family. The trip started off with a bang. Evan got to take his first airplane flight. He did fantastic. First we took Jet Blue and traveled to the Long Beach airport. The flight was at the perfect time, right around nap time. We were able to pre-board (this was our first time doing this - so cool!). Evan entertained himself for quite sometime chomping on a never been used barf bag during the flight. He loves paper and this was the perfect type, makes noise, etc., but doesn't fall apart easily in the mouth. :) Then he had some food and took a nap. However, he also made lots of friends on board and flirted with everyone with his adorable smile and tongue.

When we landed in Long Beach we were greeted by my fabulous former coworker Aaron. He took us to a lovely lunch with more of my fellow CSULB coworkers at El Torritos. It was so much fun! Here we are all together! Jim took the picture. :) Note Evan's Beach pride as he wears his yellow and black proudly!

Then we went back to campus and got to see so many special people. First being my amazing boss Janice. She and Evan had the best time together. He especially loved climbing all around her office and under the chairs like little tunnels. His favorite part was also trying to get to all of the paper piles around the office and eat them. :)

Then we went up to the President's Scholars Center and saw the terrific Valerie, Jennie and Carol of the President's Scholars Program!

After that we went to the Foundation Building, where my office used to be located. There I was able to reunite with Noemi and Julie as well as Evelyn, Mary Ann and Diana who is expecting a little bundle of joy of her own in May - a baby girl! :) Evan had such a good time here he passed out. He just loved Julie; she was so comforting. :) We also got to see Mei, Carl and Beri (pictured above).
Then we walked over to the Studebaker office and saw those coworkers. Some of the people we got to visit with are pictured below, good friends Janette, Jamie and Brian.

Last but not least, we headed to the Alumni Center and I got to get a picture with Tony and Sasha.

We had the best time at CSULB and it was so good to be back visiting! Go Beach!!!

Our main purpose for the visit to Southern California was to host a baby shower for good friend Lalani and her baby boy coming in May. The party took place on Saturday, we stayed with Chris and Lalani on Friday and Saturday night. The party was so much fun and it was great to be able to put together this special get together for Lalani and her friends and family.

Then on Sunday we got to see our super-duper Life Group family from Rock Harbor as well as attend church there in the morning.

We also got to dine at B.J.'s, one of our favorite restaurants with the gang and fantastic friends Ryan and Megan. They look adorable with the little guy. :)

At church we were able to visit with the lovely and beautiful Tammi! It was so great to see here. We just wish we could have visited longer. Evan just thought she was the coolest! :)

One of Evan's favorite parts of the visit was also getting to reunite with little Kahanah. They meet when Evan was born. She will be two next month. Her mom Jenae and I had a great time trying to get the kids to pose together. We finally got one. :)

Also, Kahanah's dad, Phillip and Evan have the same hair do. Evan's hair is currently growing all out of the center and looks like a little Mohawk. They have the same style of shirts on too with a long sleeve undershirt below their short sleeve shirt. So stylish, trendy and handsome! :)

After this fantastic celebration we traveled to Riverside with Grandma Knight and Aunt Alison who picked us up at the get together with the Life Group in Huntington Beach. They took us to the special feast in honor of Jim's Birthday and St. Patrick's Day with Uncle Herb, Aunt Kathy, and all the cousins and second cousins. Below is a picture of all the ladies in the bunch, minus the littlest lady Emma.

She is pictured below, along with Megan, Aunt Alison, Evan (not so happy in this picture), and Uncle Herb.

Here are Jim and Bob, looking manly together drinking their coffee! :)

Here are Brandon and Evan. So handsome!

Here are the other boys of the bunch, Robert and Andrew, little gardeners. :) Evan can't wait to run around with these two.

However, he had the best time with his second cousin Emma. She was so great with him and pushed him in the swing and in the little wagon pictured below. Evan loves you Emma! Thank you for playing with him. :)

Then on Monday we had fun hanging out at Grandma Knight's house and Aunt Alison before traveling to the Ontario Airport to come back home.

Alison made Jim this great sign modeled after the hit series "The Office" on NBC. So cool Alison! :) You will also notice that Jim and Evan are wearing the same shirts in this picture. The Old Navy St. Patrick's Day shirt. It was so cute, Jim's little mini-me. :)

Thank you everyone for such an amazing visit. We can't wait to come back and see you all again real soon! We miss you and love you! :)
