Evan is five!!!!!

Evan turned five on Wednesday, August 7.  He was so excited to finally be 5.  He started his day with a bang!  Jim and I surprised him in the night with decorating his door with streamers and balloons.
It was a great surprise he and Evie when he woke up both loved it!  We also hung up his birthday party decorations and had them all ready for when he woke up on his acutal birthday.  He was so happy!  Here he is in the morning after seeing everything.
Then we got to go play at Wacky Tacky with his best buds the Pray Family!  Wacky Tacky was so sweet they gave him a present, and didn't want Evie to feel left out and gave her one too.

Then later in the afternoon it was fun time with Evie and Elaine.
Then presents with Daddy when he got home from work.
The big surprise present for Evan's 5th Birthday was a brand new 16 inch bike!  Look how happy he is testing it out.
Then it was off to a birthday dinner at Islands.  It was hard to pull him away from the new gifts especially his bike, but we managed.

Yummy birthday sundae
Happy 5th Birthday to the most amazing boy God could have ever blessed our family with.  We love you so much Evan and you are more than we could have imagined.  Thank you for making us so very proud and happy every day.  Love you son!!!

Super Why!

Our visit with Wyatt from Super Why! happened on Tuesday, August 13 at Pottery Barn Kids at the Roseville Galleria.  Everyone came out to see him.  You can see the huge turnout in the picture below.
The kids hung in there during our wait in line.  Here they are giving me big smiles.
Here is a silly one of Evan wearing his 3D Glasses he was given when we went to see the movie Planes.  I just love this serious face!
During our wait Build-A-Bear came out to see all the kids too.  We also ran into several friends who were also waiting in line or visiting the mall.
The only bummer was as soon as we finally made it into the store to meet Wyatt.  He had to go one a short break.  The Pottery Barn Staff did their best to entertain the kids.  You can see Evie up in front listening to the story they provided during his break time.  Evan hung with me and line and played with some planes that were near by us and I tried to keep Elaine occupied with some snacks.
The good news is the break was pretty quick.  We were all so happy to see him, especially the Mommy's. :)
Elaine wasn't too sure about meeting him as you can see from the picture at the top and the big kids didn't want to sit on his lap, but were happy to stand next to him.  All in all it was a lot of fun and super neat memory.  Thanks Pottery Barn and KVIE for putting this together!

Planes in 3D

Our family went to see Planes in 3D opening weekend on Sunday, August 11.  We had the best time.  This was actually Evie's first time seeing a movie in the theater and both kids first 3D movie.  Grandma and Grandpa game over to watch Elaine so Jim and I could both experience these special firsts with the kids.  Our amazing friend Greg was able to join us too.  Which was a very special treat.

Here are the kids with Jim watching the theater ads as we wait for the movie to begin.
Here are me and the kids with our 3D glasses right before the lights went down.
Here we all are outside of the theater after the movie finished.  We all enjoyed the movie and especially enjoyed the 3D effects.  The best part is Evan actually received several Planes characters for his birthday so know he could go home and properly play with them after figuring out their names, etc.
Lastly, a great picture of Jim and Greg in the lobby of the theater.

Anniversary Date

Jim and I celebrated 12 years of marriage on Sunday, August 18.  However, this year we actually celebrated on Saturday, August 17 because our Sunday was super busy.

My parents came over to watch the kids and then we went out on the town and dined at McCormick and Schmidt.  It was delicious.  We each took picture of our food because it looked so pretty and tasted so good.  Here is my meal.  The Shrimp Trilogy.
Jim thought I was silly, but went along with it.  He got the Talapia can't remember the name of it, but said it was excellent.
Here we are after our meal.  We got great seats too and were able to enjoy a nice water feature they had outside the window.
After our dinner the kids were still hanging in there (mainly Elaine I had checked with my Mom) so we walked around the Fountains a bit and enjoyed all the things it had to offer.  I treated myself to some candy at one of the stores and Jim got a Big Spoon Yogurt.  It was a beautiful time and a wonderful Anniversary!!!

Giraffe Restaurant

Our family tried out a local new restaurant in the area called Giraffe Restaurant on Saturday, August 3.  They had wonderful costumer service especially for the kids.  They gave Elaine this adorable elephant and Evan and Evie got special animal masks.
Evan the snow leopard and Evie a giraffe.  We all had a real nice time.
Grrrrrr! :)

4th of July Celebration Report

This year's 4th of July started out by attending the annual Roseville 4th of July parade with good friends the Moons.  Here we all are after the parade.  It was a pretty hot day, but the parade was short so we all survived.
Here are the boys watching the Roseville Police Officers ride through the parade.
Evie proudly holding a flag someone was passing out and her bag for candy.

The Moon Family
Here we are back at home after the parade and yummy lunch with our buds at Daphne's.  Here is Elaine smiling big on our her first 4th of July.
Later that day the Moons came over for Fireworks, dinner and some water fun too.

This was actually the first time we did fireworks in front of our house.  It was a lot of fun.  Here are the kids dancing to the fireworks as they sparkled.  Elaine and Briella were getting into the fun too.
I leave you with just a few more fun pics from the evening.
Hope you all had wonderful 4th of Julys!  God Bless America!!!

Elaine's official birth-day festivities

Our big one year old started her birthday out with a festive Eggo Waffle.  She was loving it!
Then we put on our swim suits and headed out to meet some good friends the Prays to play at the Roseville Aquatic Center.   Here she is wearing her new swim suit from Grandma Knight.
Grandma Knight was able to come along too.
Then it was balloon time as the big kids and I blew up some balloons to surprise Elaine when she woke up from her nap.  They weren't really able to blow up the balloons, but enjoyed trying.
She thought they were pretty spectacular.

That afternoon we got a great sibling picture with our little birthday girl!
Then when Daddy came home it was present time!  Evan and Evie I think were having even more fun then she was.  Here is a picture of Evan showing Elaine a sand toy set that he and Evie got for Elaine.

Then we topped the night off with a Birthday Dinner at Chevy's Fresh Mex.
The staff came out and sang to her and gave her this special birthday hat.
She wanted Mommy to wear it instead.
She loved the ice cream treat. :)
Will all had a real nice time!
Happy 1st Birthday Day darling Elaine!  We love you so very much!!! You make every day better.
