Chick-fil-A Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 7 our family along with good buds the Moons had to also attend the annual Chick-fil-A Egg Hunt.  This event never disappoints either.  Side note...gotta love Evan's pose here.  There were a couple of other shots of this pic where he was facing forward, but other people didn't look great.  So here is what I went with. :)  This is at the end of our time that morning, so he was pretty done with pictures.
Here are Evie and I getting eggs during her age group's time out on the field (ages 0-2).
Here we are after all the eggs had been collected, which only took about 5 minutes or so.  We made out pretty good though if I do say so myself. :)  We won lots of great free food and some bath toys too!  Evie wasn't as impressed with what was in the eggs, she just wanted candy.  The paper food coupons did not seem that cool.
Here are Daddy and Evan waiting along the grass in the Chick-fil-A parking lot for Evan's big hunt to begin.
This year, Evan had to do the hunt all by himself with no parent assistance.  He was in the 3-4 age group.  He did awesome I was so proud of him.  We told him to just get as many eggs in his basket as he could and to not care about color, etc.  He did just that and was amazing!

Here he is getting his final egg; so proud of our boy!
All in all, it was another wonderful year participating in the Chick-fil-A Egg Hunt!  Thank you Chick-fil-A for your generosity and being so good to our community.

Something fun to mention, Jenn Moon had her baby the day after this event.  We were hoping we wouldn't have to miss it this year because of delivery and her little girl waited!  Thanks Briella! :)

MOPS Eggstravaganza

Official Easter festivities this year began at with my MOPS group's annual Eggstravaganza on Friday, April 6.  It was a blast and the weather was perfect...sunshine and not too hot.  Both kids had a wonderful time.  Here they are right before we left being silly.
Here are the kids starting to gather waiting for the big hunt to began, awaiting instructions.  Evie was great there on the ground until the Easter Bunny appeared and got way to close.  Then mommy had to hold her.
The hunt is on!  Evie was on the search.  You can see Jayne in the background too.  Grandpa was trying to help Evie find some good eggs.
Evan was pumped and ready too!  My challenge this year was trying to watch and get pictures of both kids looking for eggs.  Didn't totally happen, Daddy and Grandma went with Evan and Mommy and Grandpa went with Evie. :)
Our family picture with the Easter Bunny, a.k.a. Jon Pray. :)  Thanks Jon!  Evie was not too sure about getting close.  This felt like a safe distance.
Daddy and his girl eating some of her treats she scored during the hunt. Yummy!
Evie checking out the rest of her loot, her favorite surprises in the eggs was candy!
Some of the MOPS Hubbies enjoying and helping out at the event too.  From left to right Jon, Mike, Gage, Jim and Tait.
Here I am with my partner in Coordinating and good friend, Katie Berry and one of her little guy's Levi.
Some of my buds with me, Jenn and Brooklynn, Kristina, and Natalie and Jayne posing pretty!
Evie playing with Ryel and Miss. Pam.
Evan and his best bud, Cameron enjoying some goodies from our potluck after playing hard on the playground.
The kids after the event....exhausted; both feel asleep coming home.
What a fun time hanging with friends and family, enjoying the beautiful day, and eating some delicious food and treats!  The MOPS Egg Hunt never disappoints.  This year we had record attendance with about 75 to 100 people too.  Pretty cool!

Flying Kites

Grandma Knight came to visit us the weekend of  March 31-April 2.  We got to take her out kite flying on Sunday, April 1.  The kids had been asking every day to fly kites since we got one for Daddy for his birthday.  It was a ton of fun and the perfect windy kite weather day.  Here she is helping Evie fly her Dora kite.  This was one of the few times it was actually in the air, the design on this kite was really bad and it didn't want to stay up.  However, I am thankful for this great picture!
Here are Jim, Evie and Evan flying away!
An up close picture of the boys kites.  Can you guess who's is who's?
Love this picture of my boys!
I leave you with this adorable picture of Evie playing on the playground.  She can climb up this walk wall now.  She is getting so big and strong!

Babies and Bumps Event

We attended the Babies and Bumps event again this year on Saturday, March 31.  This was a crazy day because it was pouring rain outside, but luckily the event was indoors.  Jim's mom was able to attend with us as she was visiting during the weekend too.  This was our third year in a row going to the event and I continue to not be disappointed.  They always have great vendors, wonderful information, fun for the kids, and free stuff!  This year was one of the best yet as our family won two of the vendor booth raffle prizes.  It was awesome!  I won the raffle basket from the Sacramento Children's Museum and Jim's mom won the prize basket from Weideman Pediatric Dentistry.

Here we are taking a break from the vendors to watch the Easter Bunny and Sleeping Beauty lead us in some fun children's songs.  The best part about this is every time Evie now hear's Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes she says, this is the song the Easter Bunny sings. :)
Evie even played Limbo with Mommy's help.
So now on to the fabulous prizes.  Here is what we won from the Sacramento Children's Museum.
These are pictures of the kids actually playing at the museum the day we picked up our prize on April 3.  They had the best time checking out all the activities.  We can't wait to go back with our annual family pass.
As we left both kids wanted to get their picture with this sign.  Both of them had to do it first you can see their frustration here.
Then the happy Evan when he was able to do it by himself.
Lastly, here is our other prize basket from Weideman Pediatric Dentistry that we got on April 2.  This was awesome too and had fantastic things for Baby sister!  Here we are at the Dentist's office picking up the basket.  They featured us on their Facebook page. Evan looks excited, huh?!?! :)
Both kids loved looking at all the treasures inside.
It was such a blessing to win all these wonderful items.
Thank you Babies and Bumps for another sensational year.  Our family was truly blessed!  Can't wait to visit again next year.

St. Patrick's Day Fun with Science

Here are the kids at the Discovery Museum in Sacramento on St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17 (Daddy's Birthday- he was actually away at the Church's Men's Retreat, so we decided to try to celebrate the day and have some fun in his honor).

Here are the kids drawing some dinosaurs using tracing stencils on the table and crayons.
And this is a neat picture of Evie with the largest dinosaur model at the center.
We got to visit with our friend's the Rhodes.  Here are all the kids hanging out and having fun outside the museum.  From left to right, Andrew, Evan, Evie and Hannah.
Here they are right before all screaming as loud as they could.  Evie didn't really think that was too great!
In the museum all the kids got to see some cool things.  Here are Evan and Andrew being silly in front of a large tree stump.
We got to learn about animals.  Kristina pictured teaching them about squirrels.
The kiddos looking at some bugs.  They were pretty fascinated by these cockroaches.
There were also some cool skulls they could see and touch.
During our visit we got to learn about one of the animals up close and personal too.  This was a turtle named Bump.
Lastly, some family pictures to commemorate our time at the museum- The Rhodes family smiling pretty.
My family...being silly!
Good times were had this Saint Patrick's Day morning! :)
