TJ's Little Shoppers

Evan thinks grocery shopping at Trader Joe's is awesome!  Here's why...
This was him on March 28th helping me shop.  He just loves these little carts.

Evie can't wait to push the carts in the near future too. :)

Face Painting

Evan got his face painted for the first time on Sunday, March 27, at the Babies and Bumps Event in Sacramento.  Sacramento Parent Magazine puts this event on with other local sponsors.  We attended last year for the first time.  The event is Sacramento's premier baby event of the year and it is all free.  It features fashion shows, entertainment, crafts, fun activities for the kids, and several vendors and lots of goodies.  We went to the event with Natalie, Tyler and Jayne.

Here is Evan below getting his face painted by Sleeping Beauty.  We asked him if he wanted a snake to be painted and he thought that sounded like a cool idea.

Here is the final product.

After Evan got his face painted we asked Tyler if he wanted to get his done too and he said no.  However, he was happy to get his picture taken with the princesses.  Where Evan and Evie weren't too excited about this as seen below.  Evan didn't even want to get near them and you can see Evie's expression.

Here are the boys together.

We also got to get hand prints of each of the kids.  The Girl Scouts were helping out with this activity.  The kids loved this.  Here I am helping wipe off the ink after the prints.
Like last year this event was very fun.  I can't wait to do it again next year.  The cool thing about the location of the event this year was it was right next to Sam's Club.  Natalie and I walked over there after all our fun and had the perfect most affordable lunch for us and the kids. Can't beat a $1.50 for a drink and a hot dog! :)

Daddy's Birthday

We had a wonderful time celebrating Jim's Birthday on St. Patrick's Day.  As always the family was all decked out in our celebratory holiday color and coincidentally Jim's favorite color - GREEN! :)

Since, his birthday fell on Thursday this year Jim had to go to work.  Nevertheless, we were able to take him out for a Birthday lunch at Daphne's! :)  Here we are dining away.  The weather was perfect; we couldn't have asked for a better day, especially since it was forecasted to rain earlier in the week.

That evening we meet up with Jim's Dad after work and all headed to The Cheesecake Factory, Jim's choice for dinner.  Yummy!

Here are Evie and Pops having a fun time together playing with the sugar packets.
And here is a nice picture of the whole fam in our St. Pat's colors!  Go green!
After dinner we headed back to our place for presents and cake and ice cream.  We passed on eating cheesecake this year from the Factory and instead celebrated with a special mint chocolate cake that I made for Jim and Leatherby's Mint Chip Ice Cream from my parents who meet us back at our place for the celebration.

Evan had a lot of fun helping Daddy open all his presents.

However, he wasn't very excited about what was inside of them.

After all the presents, we lite the candles.  Evan was however, very excited about how many candles Daddy had on his cake. :)  He loved singing Happy Birthday and helping Daddy blow all the candles out.
The kids especially enjoyed eating the cake and ice cream.  Here is Evan dining away with Daddy who was actually on the phone with his Mom, wishing him Happy Birthday too, during the festivities.  :)
Evie loved the cake and ice cream too.  Yummy- these kids love their sweets!

Finally we leave you with a picture of Evie looking cool...she gets this coolness from her Dad! :)

Happy Birthday my love; you are the best husband a girl could ever have!  Here's to a year full of amazing things.

First (Mini) Pony Tail

So I have attempted to put a mini pony tail (mini because her hair is still pretty thin) in Evie's hair a couple of times now, and have not taken any pictures.  Mainly because she never leaves it in for very long and always tries to pull it out.  This time we had success for a little while on March 4 and she kept it in.  She did pull it out eventually, but I manged to get several cute pictures before the destruction.  Enjoy...I sure did!

First time on Carousal

Last Saturday, February 26, Jim and I took the kids on the Carousal at the mall.  It was so much fun.  Evan rode the dragon.  That was what he wanted to ride.  Evie was on the horse right next to the dragon.  Both kids had a super time.  Evie didn't want to stay on the horse during the whole duration of the ride.  With it going up and down and the carousal spinning round and round I don't know what she thought, but she wanted me to hold her for part of the ride. :)  Here are some pictures of all of us to capture the expereince.  Good times!

Recap on Valentine's Day

We had a nice Valentine's Day weekend celebration that began on Saturday, February 12th.  The main reason for the long celebration was because Jim had to go out of town for work on Monday, the 14th.  So we thought we would make the best of it and celebrate all weekend long.  Here is our fam dressed in Valentine's colors.  Don't you just love Evie's expression.  Priceless!
Here are the boys opening up their fun Valentine's Day goodies

Here is Evie with her's too.
Evan got Valentine's from Mommy and Daddy, Evie and even Sir Topham Hat and Lady Hat.  They told him, "He was a very useful boy!" :)  He also got some "Cars" chocolate candy and the movie, "Mater's Tall Tales."  He was very excited!
Evie and Daddy also got special Valentine's Day candy and cards from everyone in the family.  Evie received M&M's and lets just say she thought these were amazing and tried to put all of them in her mouth in record time. :)  Luckily it was just a little snack pack.  Our girl really enjoys sweets.

Mommy got cards from the kids and Daddy, and a dozen beautiful pink roses from my honey on Valentine's Day.  He woke up super early and ran to the store to get them and he also got us some special love donuts.  Yummy!  The cool thing is the roses are still looking amazing today as I write this post and he got them from Safeway.  This is a huge endorsement for their flowers.
Lastly, we had a delicious family dinner at Chevy's and were all able to enjoy some yummy Valentine's Day treats from our friends the Moons.  They brought us over delicious and beautiful chocolate dipped strawberry's and Evan and Evie got pink cupcakes.  Evan was thrilled!  You can see him about to eat his in the picture below.
