Big Bear - WOFOFF!

Jim and I had a wonderful weekend away in Big Bear during the weekend of June 19-22. Each year we get together with our fantastic friends from Cal Poly SLO and do a camping/cabin vacation weekend. This year since we had two pregnant woman and a possible baby coming. We got the privilege to stay at our good friend Amy's parents cabin. It was amazing. Below is a picture of the gang that was able to attend during the weekend. From left to right you have Jim, me, Jeremy, Ashley, Andy, Jessica, Ben, Matt and Amy.

Here is a picture of the actual cabin below. It was so cool and very log cabin authentic!

During the weekend we were treated to many delicious meals by chef Amy! Here she is below in action. Thank you Amy!

We also got to experience quite a variety of fun activities from Ping Pong...

To boating.Jim and some of the other guys also got to water ski. In Jim's case attempt it, we have both been away from this sport for some time so it was little challenging to get up. However, he still had an amazing time. :)

He especially enjoyed the Wave Runner as seen below.

Another fun activity was the boys all got to experience the Alpine Slides. These were pretty neat and if Jessica and I weren't pregnant we probably would have been all over the experience. However, as you can they were making no exceptions for pregnant women.

The activity took place as seen below. They would travel up the hill in a ski lift type of contraption. Ben and Jim are pictured during the journey.

Then they would ride down the slide in the yellow cart as displayed on the ski lift above; Jim is flying down in this picture and Ben just finished. The guys had a really great time. Matt and Andrew even had some wounds to prove how much fun they had as they were really able to speed down the course. :) The girls had fun too and took lots of pictures of the experience.

Another exciting activity was pool. There were definitely some pros in the group.

Lastly, we all were able to partake in an enjoyable, relaxing puzzle for the weekend. It was such a neat time and really rewarding to complete the project.

Overall, it was another phenomenal "Weekend of Full on Fellowship and Fun!" Thanks again Amy and Matt for all of the planning that went into the weekend and a special thank you to your parents for letting us stay in the cabin. Also, lots of love to the gang and we miss you all already. Look forward to next year's summer adventure.

Our boy in 3D!!!

Jim and I had the opportunity to get the 3D/4D picture of Baby Boy Knight taken while we were in town for Rhett and Debra's wedding and had reached the 28 week point in the pregnancy. We went on Saturday, May 17th to a place in Roseville called Sonotech. It was very popular. When we arrived several people were also there with their families to see their babies too. Jim and I took my parents and grandma. The room only held up to five people comfortably so it worked out very well. We had all been praying that our little guy would be cooperative and ready to face the camera. Earlier in the week we had a clinical ultrasound at Hoag and were unable to see his face or profile during the entire appointment. We were hoping today would be different. It was time for this appointment to start and the technician started the ultrasound. However, Baby Knight was not facing up, but instead had his back to us. We got a great picture of his spinal cord, but of course we ultimately wanted to get a 3D/4D picture of his face. The technician suggested that we walk around for about ten minutes and try it again, hoping that that my movement would also encourage him to move. So Jim and I proceeded to walk around the building up and down stairs, etc. for ten minutes. We then went back in the room and he still was face down, however, the technician suggested that I roll on my side and he thought that maybe we could get a little of his face. It worked! We got to see our handsome little boy, at least most of his face. He was very relaxed during the appointment and slept during the whole thing, so there wasn't too much movement, but we all still had a fabulous experience and relished that we could see a glimpse of him and his precious little face and body in 3D/4D.

Below are two videos the first is our babies heartbeat and the second is footage from the appointment (the original DVD is about 15 minutes, but we reduced the time to make the file smaller to fit on the blog). Jim and I added some music too for your listening enjoyment. At the very bottom are still color images that we also received. I hope you enjoy seeing our little guy in action. Any thoughts of who you think he looks like?

Seven Months, and counting...

I am currently 7 months pregnant. Pretty hard to believe! Next week on Tuesday, I will be officially 8 months (32 weeks) pregnant. Below are pictures showing some of the progress. Crazy how the belly continues to grow. Jim and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little guy and have been enjoying feeling and seeing his movements. He makes us feel so loved already by his little kicks and rolls. Your Mom and Dad love you Baby Knight and can't wait to meet you! :)

Baby Shower hosted by Lalani

My dear friend Lalani had an amazing baby shower for me and several of my girlfriends on Saturday, May 24th. It was a fantastic event and a joy to be able to visit with people that I hadn't seen in awhile. The baby and I felt very, very loved and had so much fun! Pictured below are Lalani and the beautiful shower display. She even had a picture of our little boy, where everyone could sign words of encouragement and provide advice. The setting was perfect!

Here are Lalani and I proudly pointing out the beautiful cupcake tower, oh la la!!!

These are pictures of my friends who were able to attend, pictured from left to right, starting with the top row, Chandra and baby Abi, Blake, Monica, Jenae and Megan.

On the other side of the room from left to right, Amy, Julie, Sandi, Kelley and of course our amazing host Lalani.

Here I am during the gift segment of the event, opening a very delicious and creative present from Blake; she and her husband James had sent us a package in the mail and thus wanted to bring a homemade treat for us to enjoy that day. Thank you Blake- Jim, baby and me have all been enjoying the wonderful cookies!

To see more pictures of the event click here. Thank you again to all my friends for a very special day for baby and me. We are so blessed by your friendship and wonderful generosity! Jim and I love you all and look forward to having you meet our son real soon! :)

Rhett and Debra's Wedding

My brother got married on Sunday, May 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Leigh in Sacramento. It was wonderful event although slightly toasty due to the unseasonably hot day in May. Nevertheless the wedding was perfect and my brother and his new bride Debra looked amazing.

Below is a picture of the cake and the toast featuring Rhett's best man, Larry and Debra's maid of honor and sister, Laura.

Jim and I were honored to also be included in the wedding party. Baby got to experience the day too and was moving with joy during the ceremony! We had a blast and loved being able to celebrate the blessed union with family and friends who traveled to be in attendance. Congratulations again from the Knight Family, Rhett and Debra! We love you and have fun in Hawaii!!!

I will include a link with more pictures from the photographer once they become available. Stay tuned! :)

OC AIDS Walk

On Saturday, May 10, we participated in the 22nd Annual OC AIDS Walk at Angels Stadium of Anaheim with our church family, RockHarbor and about 5,000 other supporters. It was a great time of fellowship and support as the cause raised about $750,000. Our group had on orange shirts- this is why we are wearing orange in case you were wondering. Pictured below are members of our amazing life group Marilyn, co-leader, Amanda, Kimberly, Corey, and of course Jim and me. Amanda's mom was joined us on the walk and took this picture, thanks Valerie! :)

The walk took us around the field inside Angels Stadium. It was very cool! You can see the scoreboard behind us in the picture.

Overall the day was a blast! Our son had a good time and enjoyed the exercise. You can see him in the shots above too as he continues to grow each and every day. We were so glad to participate and enjoyed the time with our friends and the opportunity to help the fight against the disease and to raise money for those affected by HIV and AIDS in Orange County.

Cat and Dan's Beautiful Beach Wedding

On Friday, May 9th our good friend Catherine got married to her sweetie, Dan. They had a beautiful beach wedding on Balboa Peninsula. At one point, dolphins even put on a show right in front of the ceremony. Things couldn't have gone any better. After the wedding we were treated to a fabulous reception at the Cannery on Balboa Island- it was an outstanding evening! Pictured below are the happy new couple, Amanda, me and Jim. Congratulation's Catherine and Dan! We love you!
