WOFOFF 2011 - Cambria

This year's annual WOFOFF Trip (Weekend of Full on Fellowship and Fun) took place in Cambria during the weekend of September 16-18.  It was amazing we used the rental agency Coastal Escapes and had the best beach house that fit all 16 members of our group (9 adults and 7 kids). :)
Before WOFOFF officially began our family decided to have a little adventure of our own in San Luis Obispo and visited with old friends, returned to Thursday Night Farmers Market (or should I say braved it during Cal Poly's WOW Week), walked around Pismo Beach and visited Cal Poly's new Engineering Building.

Our first stop on Thursday was a visit with my amazing friend and former co-worker, Leslie.  It was wonderful to catch up with her and to have her meet little Evie for the first time.  We had a great time visiting in Downtown SLO.
Then we took a side trip to the Cal Poly store where we purchased Evan a new Cal Poly hat, his old one now fits Evie better, but Daddy's hats are still a little bit too big.  He was excited to get the new item and we all enjoyed looking around at the Cal Poly attire.  Mommy got a special Alumni Cal Poly Christmas ornament for Daddy too. :)  After looking around at all the yellow and green it was time to meet up with our other old friends from the area, the Weyel Family.

We had a delicious dinner at The Natural Cafe and then walked around Farmer's Market a bit.  Again, it was pretty crowded being WOW week and all, but we had a real nice time.  I don't think the kids knew what to think of all the people, especially the little ones in the strollers (Evie and Jon).
These were just two pics we got when we visited Cal Poly and the new Engineering Building.  Jim's a little jealous that he missed being able to study in such state of the art facilities.  Who knows maybe Evan and Evie will get to study here one day. :)  Funny story, as we were walking around trying to get to the Aero Deptarment we met the new College of Engineering Dean.  She was so sweet and very helpful to find the Aero area. :)
We also got to experience our first time all together in a hotel room.  It was awesome.  We stayed in Pismo at the Oxford Suites.  We found a great deal on Travelocity.
The kids slept so good at the hotel...and they loved the pullout bed and pack'n play.  They made a game out of putting pillows back and forth in each of these areas.  Crazy kiddos! :)

Here are some fun pictures of us hanging out at Pismo Beach too.

Later that day we drove to Cambria where we picked up our keys for the beginning of the WOFOFF Weekend around 3:00 p.m.  Here is our rental home.
and our view...
The porch had this cool captain's wheel too. :)
The weekend was a blast as always and included hanging out at the ocean all morning Saturday.  The kids were loving the water.
Here is a nice family picture we got that morning.
The ladies posing pretty with their babies.
The fella's looking cool.
After the fun times at the beach we headed back to our vacation house for lunch, rest time and "the Porthole"...
Who knew you could have so much fun with a Porthole.  Here is Dave testing it out.  Andrew and Matt also got in on the fun.
The little boys also got in some excellent bonding time over two caterpillars,
chasing Mr. Matt at the Saturday night dinner (they were all loving this),
and wrestling with Uncle Ben - what a good sport.  He really looks like he is getting taken by the boys in this pic. :)
Saturday evening we all got ready to head out to see Cambria a bit.  The kids got to have fun at the local park.

We took a quick trip to see the Elephant Seals.  Evan passed out in the car, so he missed seeing them completely, but Evie thought they were pretty cool. :)
Then we had a delicious dinner at Main Street Grill.
That evening after all the kiddos were in bed we played a hilarious game (The Hat Game) and ate our favorite WOFOFF treat, Red Vines (Thanks Ben!).
Other fun happenings during the weekend...

Jayne and Evie got to play together.  Don't they both look so cute in their jammies. :)
Evie loved guiding Jayne around.
And this spider lived outside near the front door of the house.  :)
And I leave you with two adorable pictures of the older kiddos: Lena, Sammy, Tyler, Evan and Evie posing pretty in front of the house.
Can't wait for WOFOFF 2012.  Sure do love these life long friends.  Thanks for the memories and all the laughs! :)
