13 Months Old

Our little guy is just growing up so fast! He is already 13 months and as I write this almost 14 months. I just wanted to recap with a few pics and some of the fun new milestones he has had.

First off he just loves to dance, clap, give high fives and laugh. Here he is in action with his dancing feet - you can see he gets his cool moves from his Dad. So fun! :) Love you both so much.

This is our little Hawaiian Boy! Grandma and Grandpa Thompson recently went on a cruise in Hawaii and got him this adorable outfit as well as a Hawaii onesie that you will see in a picture below. He also got to wear these authentic beads. If you didn't know better you might think he was a native. :)

He also got this cool light up glass from the trip. He loves it!

The things that Evan does surprise me every day. Here he is in his wagon. He got in there all by himself and he can also get out all by himself. The best is that he finds it comfortable sitting on all the blocks. Go figure! :)

Evan is a big fan of snacks now, especially anything that can also make a mess. Here he is with Cheerios all over the floor and dancing in between them. His current favorite snacks are Cheerios, Yogurt Melts, Dried Fruit Pieces, Pretzels, Gold Fish, Raisins, and Bunny Crackers; I think these are the main ones. He also enjoys and desperately seeks after whatever snack Mommy and Daddy are munching on. :)

Evan is doing so much better with food. He really enjoys big people food. He has occasionally baby food, but prefers to eat whatever Mommy and Daddy are enjoying. It has been nice to see him grow in this area. A few thing still go in and come back out, but not by gagging, just by Evan being picky about what he wants to eat. Some of his favorite things to chow on are cheese, bread, french fries, fruit (cut up grapes, watermelon, mandarin oranges), and vegis (cooked carrots, peas, soy beans, cucumbers, corn).

Our little boy is definitely a chatter box at times. He can say no and usually says no, no, no and shakes his head at the same time (so funny how they learned this and it meaning). He also will share with you this phrase when he doesn't want to eat something, say baby food peas for example. :) His favorite ways to use it are when we ask him if he is ready for night night or a nap. He says "No, no, no and shakes his little head. So cute! He also says Mama and Dada real clear now. He can say cheese, dog, ball, duck, goose (some of these are not totally clear, but you can make them out in the context of the conversation). We think he also says Grandpa too! We are still working on Grandma. :) Don't worry Grandma's he is almost there. :) He loves saying bye, bye and hello as well. Usually when people are not looking. These words are accompanied with a wave for bye, bye and picking up an object and putting it next to his ear for hello.

One of the best things about Evan getting older is how much he understands. He now will go get his shoes on command and brings them right to you. He loves to go out to the store, trips around the block, outside period is a real treat! He can't get enough of it. He even knows that we need to get the key and where to go for the mailbox. They learn so much in such a short amount of time! We are so amazed by Evan everyday! Below he has his shoes ready for me to put on so we can go outside.

Evan can even put things in the trash can now. Jim and I watched him carry his Cheerios that feel on the floor one at a time into the can until they were all in there. However, he will also throw away bowls and spoons when he is done with them. Luckily it has a lock or we might be missing quite a few things.

This is Evan showing off some cotton in his toes. Grandma Thompson was getting a pedicure and Evan thought he needed some cotton in his toes too. He thought it was so cool and kept it in there for quite some time. Then he gradually picked it all out! Hilarious!

Evan playing with some of his new toys he got for his birthday! He just loves playing and having fun, especially with other people.

Evan and Daddy enjoying the fountain at Fountains on a hot summer day.

Evan also enjoys his freedom as most kids do and loves walking around and looking at all the people at the places we go. Here he is at the Fountains shopping center.

Evan is a true joy all around. He brings happiness to all he meets, especially his family! We love you Evan!!!
